P op culture movies would have you believe
that it's impossible to get into a sexual
relationship with a person without falling in love and wanting to marry them and have
babies. The reality is, that ain't necessarily the truth – and these days in our Tinderesque
world, casual relationships are getting to be much more common, if not the norm. So
how do you do it without things getting awkward or wires getting crossed?

Casual relationships are getting

to be much more common.

S ET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

The easiest way to ensure that a casual relationship fails is to not clearly
discuss want you both want out of the relationship before getting into
anything (i.e. getting into each other's pants). Even if things are casual, you
still need to both feel comfortable enough to be completely honest with
each other – particularly if one of you finds your feelings are changing. Make
sure that both of you are the same page with what you want out of the
relationship and that your needs match up.

8 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

K EEP IT CASUAL
Avoid doing bf-gf things, like meeting the parents or
changing your profile picture on Facebook for example.
Duh. Nothing says ‘this is my boyfriend/girlfriend' quite
like introducing them to your parents, and we all know that
once it's on Facebook, it's official. Make rules that work for
both of you – this might include never having sleepovers,
as some people find sleeping next to someone too
intimate.

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 9

D ON'T CLING!
Sure, people might think that only women become stage five clingers, but
I've had my share of clingers too and trust me when I say that guys can be
even worse! Do you really need to send her that funny cat picture you saw
on the internet? Do you think she will be interested in knowing what you
had for lunch? There's a big difference between keeping in contact
regularly and just being clingy. There's also a fine balance though between
keeping in contact and being a distant douchebag who only messages
when he wants sex. Don't be that guy, either.

10 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

L AY GROUND RULES
How often will you see each other? Will you be open about seeing
each other people or maintain a ‘don't ask, don't tell' approach? Will
you have sleepovers and go on ‘dates'? Again, make sure you're both
on the same page and then there are no mixed signals. The last thing
you want is either of you wondering ‘where is this going' or ‘what are
we to each other.'

The last thing you

want is to wonder...

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 11

When you get to ask any question you want to a professional glamor model, where do you
even begin? You have to think about what everyone else would want to know about Kindly
Myers. What are we even brave enough to ask? Well, if you have seen the goofball things she
posts on her Snapchat account, I’d say…We can get away with pretty much any questions, so
let’s go for it!

When Kindly is not jet-setting around the globe shooting with the world’s best
photographers attending amazing events like the 2016 Splash Magazine Hawaiian Retreat
(wink wink) where she is scheduled to be our VIP featured model (wink wink), she is based in
the country music capital of the world, Nashville TN!

The city of just over 3 million people is home to most of the country artists we hear today on
the radio and where all the legends have retired to. One establishment has captured all the
history of the city and Kindly happens to be the mixologist at this legendary business. So
let’s start our interview there…

KINDLY
So, Kindly, how many years have you been mixing up the best cocktails and serving the
coldest beers in Nashville? And, tell us a few of the crazy stories you have from your job,
who have you met? Who has hit on you? Do we know any of your regular customers?

I have been bartending around 8 years. I love the job it gives the flexibility to travel and
pursue modeling. The place I work is directly behind the Ryman auditorium, which is the
original Grand ol Opry. Many stars, not just country singers, frequent Tootsies Orchid
Lounge. Willie Nelson used to work there. He actually started the tradition of the tip jar for
the bands. Check out their Instagram to see all the stars that stop in
@tootsies_orchid_lounge

Being in Nashville and surrounded by music all the time, do you maybe have a secret
talent we don’t know about? Can you sing? Play an instrument? Can you play the spoons
like no one else?

I don't sing, however I can play any and all air instruments.

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 15

Well, let’s get into the good stuff. We both know all the men that are reading
this want to know, how long you have been modeling and what was your first
modeling job? What kicked your whole career off?

I have been modeling for around 5 years. I have been very fortunate to work
with some amazing and talented photographers. My first shoot I was so nervous.
A little bit awkward at first. Once I got comfortable there was no stopping me.

Did you see what I did there? They are all like “ask her if she is single!” Sorry,
fellas we are not going there but we will ask...

I spent 4 years in the army national guard. When I was asked to be interviewed
and have a pictorial for World of Firepower magazine. That was definitely a
highlight for me because I like guns and it was a very fun shoot.

When you go out, I am sure you stop traffic and men have the most
random pick-up lines to get your attention. Tell us some of your
favorites. What was the worst one and what was the one that made
you laugh or smile?

Best and worst pickup lines... Haha they're all terrible. One that is
always good is "Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only 10 I
see."

Okay, and if there is some man out there wondering how he can get
your attention or any woman’s attention for that matter what advice
would you give him? Is there a trick to getting a beautiful, blonde,
bombshell, who is wholesome, has morals, is independent and
successful to pay attention to you?

A good personality goes a long way. I love a guy with a good sense of
humor, who can make me laugh. Show me that you are a good person.

Out of all the publications you have ever been printed in what is your
favorite? (wink)

16 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

I am beyond excited to be featured in Splash Magazine.

And what is the one event you look forward to attending this year? (wink)

Splash Magazine will be taking me to their 2016 Splash Magazine Hawaiian

Retreat as their featured model. This event will be so amazing. Such a great
location and amazing models and photographers.

We really do appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions about
your life and your modeling career but we just have a few more for you…

What is the craziest thing you have ever done? And do you regret it?
Why or why not?

Wouldn't you like to know. My momma would kill me if she found out.
I'll have to take it to the grave.

What is the one part of your body that gets the most attention from
men? From women? And from you?

I would have to say men always comment on my butt, surprisingly

women always ask about my boobs. My legs are personally my
favorite body part.

If a young girl - let’s say 16 - came up to you and asked you about being a model, what advice
would you give her?

Her and her parents should do their research on the photographers they work with. Make sure
their work is quality. Also that it takes a lot of time and determination.

In your view what makes a woman beautiful?

I fimly believe that happy girls are the prettiest. Confidence is key.

And in closing… tell us the 5 things you can’t live without!

oel Flora is an LA-based photographer and is highly experienced in
J working with glamour, boudoir, swimsuit, and fashion models. He is
exceptional at working with first time models and capturing beauty and
confidence in his imagery. Joel learned photography by working for
many photographers as a digital tech and first assistant on shoots from
fashion to nudes. He is proficient in large or small sets, locations or
studio.

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 25

When we had the opportunity to sit down and interview photographer Joel Flora we knew we
had to take full advantage to get behind the lens of someone who has shot for every major
publication that comes to mind. From celebrities to glamor to nudes, Flora has a wide range of
editorials that he has shot and Splash Magazine is here to give you an inside look at the life and
creative process of the man himself.

Let’s start from the beginning. When did you know you wanted to pursue photography as a
career and where did you learn your craft?

There wasn't a single "aha" moment where I said to myself, "I want to be a photographer." It was
something I always enjoyed doing so I just naturally pursued it. As far as the learning aspect, I
had cameras as a kid and I would take skateboarding photos of my friends and I. The more I did
it, the more I studied the different techniques and dynamics of the art form. When I went to
college I continued to study it but once I got my internship at Playboy I left school and never
looked back. Then the next eight years I was a digital tech and photo assistant for more than 145
photographers from around the world. When you're around that much talent, you take the
opportunity to absorb everything like a sponge and you learn something new every day on set.

What was the first major publication that you had your works printed in? How did that come
about?

Playboy. I had been shooting a lot for Playboy Cyber Club at the time but I was always using the
studio on weekends to practice lighting, posing, just anything that would improve my aesthetic.
From those sessions, I put together a book and showed it to one of the editors of Playboy. They
liked it enough to give me the opportunity to shoot the Playboy Miss Social campaign for their
first winner Krystal Harlow.

You've shot a lot of amazing models but who is someone you haven't shot yet that you want to
put in front of your camera? What kind of concept would you do with them?

James Franco because I think he would be down to do any concept I throw at him, whether it's
comical or serious. Formal or weird and offbeat, he would embrace it 100%. Not only that, but I
think I would also be able to get a top female model to join in if it's Franco. I'll basically kill two
birds with one stone.

We want to dig into your time at Playboy. What's your personal view on nude images and do
you think that the changes at Playboy to become a non-nude publication will help or hurt the
brand?

I've never seen any problem with nude images. At the end of the day, the truth is sex sells.
There's no way around that reality and to try and sidestep that truth would just be inauthentic.
As far as the changes at Playboy, the brand itself is always going to be successful. As far as the
magazine, we'll just have to wait and see.

26 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

Can you tell us some behind the scenes tips from a photographer’s perspective on how to get
the perfect shot and what goes into that process?

It's all about practice. Practice, practice, practice until it becomes second nature to you. Along
with that is a lot of prep work goes into every shoot. If you just show up to "wing" it, you may
get lucky every now and then but what separates good photographers from bad ones is
consistency. Consistently doing great work and that only comes with practice and preparation.

You have traveled all over the world shooting with models for publications and for print
campaigns, can you tell us a short story about a place you went to and a situation that was
memorable?

Surprisingly my most memorable moment was in L.A. I had been living here only a short time
and I was doing a shoot for my buddy Dytch [@dytch66 on IG, follow him!] who's a mural graffiti
artist. We were on his studio rooftop in Koreatown, right around sunset, with about
five other incredible graffiti artists. We were all just hanging out and smoking a blunt, and
staring right back at us was the Hollywood sign. It was a surreal moment, it was like I was in a
movie and
being around insanely talented people, that was the first time I felt like I had made it in this city.
It's not just that moment itself that left such an impression on me, it's the fact that I'm still
friends with all of those guys to this day. I still shoot for Dytch's company Blank Canvas every
now and then.

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 27

Well, our readers that are models and photographers should already know about the 2016
Splash Magazine Hawaiian Retreat and they should also know that you will be there as a VIP
Guest and will be shooting with models that book time with you. What would you tell models
that haven’t worked with you before that want to shoot with you?

Come with a good attitude. We're doing photography so it should be fun. Be confident, be
prepared mentally and physically, and trust in my direction. If you do all that, we're going to
have a great shoot.

Tell us a bit about you, the guy behind the camera.

I work my shoots from start to finish, so a lot of my time is spent prepping and editing the
photos in post. What you see on social media, the final product, is only 15% of all the work that I
put into it.

Name three things that are on your bucket list?

1. Shoot an A-list celebrity.

2. Travel as much as possible.
3. Shoot a worldwide ad campaign.

A model that is turning heads in the industry wanted to be printed in our magazine and we took
full advantage of this opportunity to get to know this stunning model! Alessandra Sironi is based
in Florida but is originally from Venezuela and has been shaking up the modeling industry for
the last year with her amazing style and look.

Alessandra started her career working behind the camera as a video editor and then started
getting in front of the camera and the rest is history. We wanted to learn more about Alessandra
and her story and this interview gave us the perfect opportunity!

Alessandra, the first thing we would like to say is congratulations on all your success so far…
We have seen your face in magazine publications, in product campaigns and we are sure there
will be more to come! Can you tell us a bit more about your modeling career and how you went
from behind the camera as a video editor to launching this part-time modeling career?

Becoming a model was always my dream, however, I never thought of pursuing it. Everything
started in a Zumba class. I was taking a Master Class to get certified as a Zumba Instructor.
At the end of the class, I was approached by a fitness instructor/photographer who offered me a
free photo shoot. He was starting to build his portfolio and needed models to start with. I did not
accept right away; I was not a model by that time, and I was very skeptical about doing
collaborations.

A week later, I decided to reach out to the Mysterious Guy and accept his photo shoot proposal. I
put together four lifestyle outfits and asked my partner to come with me to the location (he took
the initiative of shooting a behind the scenes for me that same day). The photo shoot went
surprisingly well and straight from the camera the raw pics looked beyond good. The
photographer, named Michel McGinn, contacted me for a second meeting to go over the pics.
When we sat that day in the mall's food court table, I knew I had something great. Not having any
background experience on posing and being able to pull out around 300 great pics was a sign. I
remembered Michel told me he wasn’t able to do a selection of pictures because all of them
looked great.

Since then, I haven’t stopped doing collabs. I took the initiative and started contacting
photographers in the area offering nothing but pics for their portfolio in return. Months have
passed and there hasn’t been one day I don’t get a collab proposal. The good thing is they are
now becoming paid jobs and the rest is history.

We know you are originally from Venezuela and you faced some difficulties in your home
country because modeling is not a career choice that most women get into. What did your
family and friends think about your choice to model in the beginning and have their views
changed since?

Well, my career of modeling became a huge controversy among my family. Nowadays I still don’t
talk to some family members due to them not supporting my decision. I lost a bunch of friends
as well, but that didn’t stop me from continuing doing what I love.

They keep saying “You can do better than being a model." However, what they don’t know is the
talent and all the hard work that it takes to be one. Plus, it is not a career for life - you have to do
it when the time is right (just as any soccer player, for example).
I count on my productive years to peruse my dream. Later on, I plan to move on to bigger levels
FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 43
I count on my productive years to pursue my dream. Later on, I plan to move onto bigger levels
in the industry: like growing my video production company and being Creative Director for
photo shoots.

To succeed in this career is not easy. There is a lot of competition and scams out there. Thanks to
my mother, who encouraged me to finish college, I know how to manage my modeling career
way better. Studying is as important as pursuing a dream. Having an empty brain won’t do any
good in this industry. I’m glad I started behind the camera; it taught me all I needed to be well
prepared in front of it.

Did we read that you’re a dancer as well? Can you tell us about that? What type of ance do you
do and how has that helped you in your modeling career? Does it help with being limber and
posing?

Yes, that’s also another asset I developed since I was little. When I was 4 years old, my mom
signed me up to Ballet and Flamenco classes and I immediately fell in love with it. I loved
getting a costume on and performing. I got certified as a Flamenco teacher and I even had my
own class for a year. I coached little girls from 4 to 10 years old for a while. I’m a very
multitasking person, when I was teaching Flamenco I was also learning Salsa, Bachata, and Hip-
hop. I performed in the Orlando Salsa Congress and won a medal as an amateur dancer.

All these dancing lessons helped me shape my personality and they do help me when I’m posing
for the camera. Posing is not only a matter of being in front of a flash and making pretty faces, it
takes way more than that. You must be able to seduce the camera, make the right eye contact
and most of all be natural. I definitely think dancing was the best asset I could learn to develop
my modeling career.

Okay, Alessandra, you know that we are a gentleman’s publication and sixty percent of our
readers are men. They are your audience, tell them what it’s like to be a model and the parts
that you love about being in the spotlight and the parts that you dislike.

Being a model is something not everyone can do. Nowadays there are hundreds of Instagram
girls that called themselves models. However, I truly believe to get that title you must do
something other than having a bunch of selfies and a few professional pictures published on
social media. For example, I hate being called a model - I think I still need more to earn that title.
Like being taller, for example. I get rejected by most of the great high fashion jobs due to my
height. I even had started to believe I would never get to the levels I want just because I’m
petite. No big agency wants to sign me because I’m 5’6.

However, I recently decided I won’t give up on it. I want to start a social media movement
against High Fashion requirements. To me it is ridiculous that only tall and non-curvy girls get to
be on the runway. What about us? The not so tall models that can easily pull out great high
fashion poses? Just like there are campaigns for plus size models, there should be campaigns
about petite models. We deserve to be more than just glamor models… way more than that.

Being in the spotlight is the best way to network - or at least, that’s how I see it. Becoming a
public figure has helped me connect with great people which developed my entrepreneur side,
shaping me as a business girl at the same time.
Oh! Almost forgot! The part I love the most about my body is my eyes, well maybe my booty too
44 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US
FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 45
Oh! Almost forgot! The part I love the most about my body is my eyes, well maybe my booty too
(laughs).

We want to know more about you and your goals in the modeling industry. What is the one job
that you would love to do as a model? How do you see this job changing your life and your
career?

My goals are to be recognized as a well-known international model, who not only poses but has
a brain. My dream is being the first Venezuelan to become a Victoria's Secret angel. This is my
ultimate goal. If I ever get there, I can 'hang my shoes.’ However, I know it would be ‘impossible’
due to my measurements and height (BIG sad face). I’m planning on taking acting classes as well,
so I can enter the movie Hollywood business. I’ve done some pilots for some Spanish TV Series,
but I’d love to get my foot into English acting/hosting. This job changed the path of my life
completely. It taught me to be brave, not to listen to naysayers and to never give up on myself.

You are currently based in Florida and although it’s a beautiful state, where else would you
live in the USA and why?

Ilove Miami because of the weather. However, I would be happy to move to Los Angeles or New
York to grow my possibilities in the industry.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done? Tell us the story.

The craziest thing I’ve done is not giving a f*** about what some of my friends and family think
about me and continuing to pose “half-naked”- how they love calling it - in front of cameras.

If a young girl came up to you - let’s say she is 15 - what would you tell her about the modeling
industry and getting involved in it? Would you give the same advice to a woman that is 25?

To a 15-year-old I would advise to get a degree and worry about her brain first before starting
posing. To a 25-year-old, to not give up. It’s never too late.

HOW
TO
START
A
CONVERSATION
WITH
A
GIRL!
By Kezia Noble

The world’s leading

female dating expert
for men.

50 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

The three most common sticking points that
men come to me with are:

A. Getting over their initial nerves of talking to a woman

and overcoming approach anxiety.

B. Sexual escalation, which is literally the ability and understanding of

how to ‘make a move on a woman’ and show her your intention.

C. Conversation skills and conversational material (i.e. running out of

things to say!) .

FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US 51

So what do you say to a woman when you see her across a crowded room? What is the
perfect opening line you can use on that girl who works in the same building as you? What’s
the best way to start a conversation with a girl you really like?

These questions are VERY common, and the good news is that there are a MULTITUDE of ways
to start up a conversation and - most importantly - make it last long enough to gain her
interest and make her desire you!

However, if you are unable to attend one of our worldwide events or courses, then here are
some tips to help you:

1) Decide on the style of your opening line. Is it going to be DIRECT or INDIRECT? Direct is
when you convey your intention towards the girl RIGHT AWAY. This usually means giving the
girl a cool and unique compliment. The trick here is to change the subject straight away after
you have given her the compliment by introducing yourself. If you leave the bridge too long,
it will come across as too intense. A direct opening line shows a woman that you are
confident and if executed correctly it will make her feel good about the interaction.

2. Know your options. If you do not have the confidence yet to explore direct approaches ,
then using an ‘indirect’ conversation starter can be a great alternative. Here are some
examples:
“Hey, the music here is pretty lame tonight, do you think the DJ takes requests?”
“Where did you get your shoes from? My friend Katy would love them and it’s her birthday
soon so..."

52 FALL 2016 SPLASHMAG.US

“You always look so happy, even on Monday mornings. It’s kinda cool because most people
here look so miserable.” (For the office)
“Is there anywhere good to eat around here?" (When she makes a suggestion, deliberately
disagree with her choice and let the conversation move towards food, cuisine etc.. this
surprisingly can lead to countries and holidays VERY quickly)
“My friends wants to have a themed costume party this weekend..any suggestions? PLEASE
don’t say super heroes, because everyone has suggested that!”

Replace words with ‘hooks’ Consider whatever her response is as HOOK. This is the main
ingredient of the secret that I have shared with many men out there who used to suffer from
running out of things to say with women too quickly, or who could never find that killer line
to start a conversation!

4. Make sure you make an IMPACT. Ever been rejected because you were just too much of a
‘nice guy’? The nice guy is often mistaken for the GREAT GUY, but in fact, the ‘nice guy is just a
polite way of describing someone as BLAND, FORGETTABLE and REPLACEABLE.
