Skill Combination: Devops+ SAP Basis+ Ansible or Python Automation

Introduction

As an SAP DevOps Engineer to drive the automation and efficiency of our SAP landscape. The ideal
candidate will have a strong understanding of SAP technologies, DevOps practices, and
automation tools.

Your Role and Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for SAP applications.


- Automate SAP system administration tasks using scripting languages and automation tools.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to streamline deployment processes.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions for SAP environments.
- Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAP deployments and infrastructure.
- Stay updated on SAP DevOps best practices and emerging technologies.
 Continuously develop and mature our automation landscape (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, K8S,
Python, CICD Pipelines …) to help to reduce manual efforts across the full S/4HANA stack
and application lifecycle in Dev and Ops
 Work in an Agile Scrum team
 Participate in DevOps projects
 Help simplify our processes
 Develop automation solutions so that we can scale with software
 Familiar in working in an Agile project layout defined in Github
 Evaluate and implement AI use cases in the context of a delivery organization

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- Strong knowledge of SAP Basis administration and landscape management.


- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- Understanding of version control systems (Git).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience with SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and SAP Cloud ALM is a plus.
Lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of our continuous integration/continuous
delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using cloud services and automation tools.
Use Terraform for advanced cloud resource provisioning and management.
Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring.
Design and implement enterprise-grade, scalable cloud-based services to support our
development teams.
Collaborate with developers to optimize the application development workflow.
Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide advanced technical support to the team.
Advocate for and implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration
management.
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
If necessary, deploy and maintain SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) in cloud environments.
Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.
Well versed with engineering, quality assurance and/or technical service operations practices like
agile/scrum, continuous integration/delivery, ITIL, DevOps or Chaos Engineering (optional)
Understanding of cloud technology and focus on operational excellence, experience in working
with Infrastructure as a Service like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or Converged Cloud is a plus
 Superior team player with a high quality standard, cloud mindset, challenge the status quo
and make things happen
 Well versed with engineering, quality assurance and/or technical service operations
practices like agile/scrum, continuous integration/delivery, ITIL, DevOps or Chaos
Engineering (optional)
 Understanding of cloud technology and focus on operational excellence, experience in
working with Infrastructure as a Service like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or Converged Cloud
is a plus
 Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
 2+ years of experience in development/engineering or technical operations role

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math,


Business or other related scientific or technical discipline.

SAP Cloud ERP certification
SAP Cloud platform technology certification
IBM Cloud professional certification
Red Hat Linux Automation With Ansible
HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate or higher
Any other hyperscalers certification is a plus (AWS,AZURE,GCP)
