BASIC FORMS OR BASIC GEOMETRY SHAPE
All lines are used to form shapes and drawing is the art of putting lines together.
When these forms of lines are put together, they create the basic forms. The basic
forms include cylinder, cones, cubes, pyramids, sphere, rectangles, ovals, circle, and
hexagons. All these shapes above are called geometric shapes
Object we see around us, no matter how complicated they may be, can be
reduced to their forms. A tree is a cylinder with a lot of branching cylinders on top
of which is an irregular ovoid. A building is normally a rectangle block with a
pyramid on top
A human figure comprises of cylinder, cones, sphere, hemisphere, etc. A vehicle or a
car contains almost all the basic forms
OBECTS DERIVED FROM BASIC FORMS
1. Cylinder-Tin, drum, tree, trunk, water, pipe
2. Cones- Funnel, tower, sharpened pencil end
3. Cubes- Cube sugar, maggi, cube boxes
4. Pyramid- Coal pot, tower
5. Sphere- Ball, bulb, orange, globe
6. Rectangle- Box, table, bed, book, cupboard.
7. Hexagon- Pencil, biro, or pens, tower.
