Understanding Motivation

The word motivation is derived from the Latin term 'movere',


which means 'to move'. As a noun, the word motive refers to a
goal; as a verb, it refers to taking action. As a result, motives are
forces that compel people to act in a certain way to meet a
specific human need at a specific time.
