Disagreement with boss

Behavioral
Have you had a disagreement with your boss, what was the result and how did you handle it? Do
you think it impacted your working relationship with him?
Answer
In a previous role, there was a disagreement with my boss about the implementation of a new
marketing strategy. Instead of expressing my disagreement immediately, I scheduled a one-on-
one meeting to discuss my concerns. I showed appropriate data and alternative approaches,
focusing on the potential impact on our goals. This opened forum of open discussion and
strengthened my work relationship with him.
Give an example where you had to give your supervisor a different idea. What strategy did you
use for the discussion, and how did you get to an agreement?
Situational
How would you handle the situation to make sure your concerns are acknowledged and taken in-
to consideration if your employer is determined about doing things that you think is not the best
course of action for a project?
Let's say your supervisor is compelling you to complete a project by a deadline that you think is
unrealistic. How would you let people know about your plans and suggest a more reasonable
timetable?
Answer:
In a situation where my boss is pushing for an unrealistic project deadline, I would handle the
communication carefully. Firstly, I will show evidence that the current timeline could be a cause
to compromise project quality and it could overwhelm the team. Then, I'd request a meeting with
my boss to discuss these concerns, presenting the evidence clearly. I'd emphasize the potential
risks of tight deadlines and suggest a more reasonable timetable, stressing the benefits of extra
time for organization and performance. Also, I'd assure my boss that my goal is to deliver a high-
quality outcome aligned with the organization's standards.

situation to maintain an appropriate and safe workplace?

continue to produce work of the same quality regardless of the difficult circumstances?

keep morale high during difficult times?

them requiring attention. How would you manage that?

your ideas that you brought to the table?
Answer
As a marketing manager, our planned product launch venue became unavailable suddenly. With
the launch date approaching, finding an alternative quickly was crucial. I needed to ensure a
seamless product launch, maintaining the original date, and minimizing disruptions to our
marketing strategy. I gathered team input, took the initiative to explore unconventional options,
and proposed unique locations aligned with our brand. I swiftly collaborated with local
businesses to secure a partnership with a trendy art gallery. The event at the art gallery surpassed
expectations, creating a memorable experience. This showcased our adaptability and creativity,
reinforcing our brand's innovative image.
Give an example where you had to think outside of a box during an obstacle, What approach did
you take?
Situational
Imagine your co worker has come up with a conventional idea that could be enhanced using
some innovation. Describe the process through which you will transform that idea into
something creative.
You have designed a marketing campaign to target a new audience, give a creative idea how you
would approach it.
Answer
For our new marketing campaign targeting a fresh audience, I would propose augmented reality
(AR) for immersive storytelling. Using an app or existing AR platforms, users can virtually
experience our products, like trying on makeup with a smartphone. Special offers tied to
challenges and encouraging user-generated content on social media enhance excitement and
community building. This approach not only cater unique brand interaction but also sparks word-
of-mouth promotion. The immersive nature of AR technology would leave a lasting impression
on the new audience.
