COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will create a strong foundation in the area of Statistics. We discuss the procedures
for collecting and efficiently summarizing various types of data. Basic statistical concepts will
be introduced such as the descriptive Statistics which will include graphical representation
and numerical ways of summarizing data. Though most of the focus will be on univariate
statistics, we will also briefly discuss bivariate and higher dimensional data. A brief exposure
to simple statistical modelling is also covered in this course. Additionally, a brief introduction
and uses of the statistical software R is covered in basic data handling.
