Presenting Examples of Action Words


The teacher recalls the song and asks,
"What did you notice about the song we sang?’’
Then, the teacher writes the words on the
board and explain.
Introducing the definition
CVC words are the words with a consonant-
vowel-consonant structure. This means they
have one consonant sound at the beginning,
one vowel sound in the middle, and one
consonant sound at the end.

Instance of the New Lesson CVC is the acronym for Consonant. Vowel, and
Consonant

Example:
-rap -fun -fix
The alphabet is used to make a word with CVC
pattern

For example: RUN

R- is consonant

U- is a vowel

N- is a consonant

The short vowel sound /a/ or /ae/ is pronounced


as /ah/. This can be produced by opening the
mouth wide enough to release the air from the
lungs.

Examples: ran, ham, fat, rat, map

The short vowel sound /e/ is pronounced as


/eh/. This can be produced by opening the
mouth slightly wide enough to release the air
from the lungs.

Examples: keg, red, ten, Ben, men, get

The short vowel sound /i/ is pronounced as /ih/.


This can be produced by opening the mouth as
if you are smiling and releasing the air from the
lungs.

Examples: rib, tip, sit, wig, tin, lip

The short vowel sound /o/ is pronounced as


/oh/. This can be produced by opening the
mouth like the letter O and releasing the air
from the lungs.

Examples: sob, hop, ton, not, fog, jog

The short vowel sound /u/ is pronounced as /uh.


The sound of short vowel /u/ is like the sound
when someone punches the stomach. This can
be produced by slightly opening the mouth and
releasing the air from the vocal cords.
Examples: but, sun, rub, cud, run, bun

E. Establishing a purpose of Now, we will find the words from the selection
the new lesson "CVC Song" that has CVC pattern.
