Introduction: Today, we will be working on a project that helps keep us safe from gas leaks. In many
homes, we use gas for cooking. If this gas leaks, it can be dangerous. Our project will build a simple system
that automatically turns on a fan and sounds an alarm if gas is detected in the room.
What We Need:
1. Gas Sensor (MQ-2): This is like a nose for our system! It can "smell" the gas in the air and tell us if
there's a problem.
2. Relay Module: Think of this as a switch. When the gas sensor detects gas, the relay will turn on the
fan and alarm.
3. Exhaust Fan: This fan will help blow out the gas from the room to keep it safe.
4. Buzzer/Alarm: This makes a loud noise to warn everyone that there's gas in the room.
5. Power Supply: This is the battery or plug that gives our system the energy it needs to work.
1. Detecting Gas: The gas sensor checks the air all the time. If it finds gas, it sends a signal.
2. Turning on the Fan and Alarm: The signal goes to the relay, which turns on the fan to blow the gas
out and the alarm to warn everyone.
1. Connect the Sensor to the Relay: We will wire the gas sensor to the relay so that it can tell the
relay when to turn on the fan and alarm.
2. Wire the Fan and Alarm: We will connect the fan and alarm to the relay so they turn on when the
sensor detects gas.
3. Power It Up: Finally, we’ll connect everything to a power source to make sure our system is
working.
● We’ll pretend there’s a gas leak and see if the fan and alarm work. If everything is set up correctly,
the fan will turn on, and the alarm will make a loud noise.
● Safety at Home: This project shows how technology can help keep us safe. If there’s ever a gas
leak, this system can help prevent accidents by warning us and getting rid of the gas quickly.
