Customers presently have various challenges when they use the restaurant's existing platforms. There
is no unified and organized online site through which they can easily see the entire menu in real-time
with current information such as the availability of the items, description, and pricing. Consequently,
the customers are sometimes forced to use outdated data or call the restaurant to place calls and
inquiries, which becomes tiresome and inconvenient for the customers and personnel alike.
Furthermore, the lack of an online booking system allows for no table availability check or real-time
reservation booking by customers. This can result in potential problems such as extended waiting
times, overbooking, or lost reservations during peak hours. The staff has to manually manage
bookings, with chances of human error and inefficiencies being high.
The absence of a professional, specific website also prevents the restaurant from creating a solid
online brand presence, reaching out to a larger community, and competing with restaurants that
already provide frictionless online experiences. In a world dominated by digital space, such
limitations disadvantage the restaurant in terms of visibility, operational efficiency, and loyalty.
Therefore, the current system points to a critical need for an overall digital solution that will cover
these gaps, simplify operations, and provide customers with a newer, more convenient, and
interactive way of getting in touch with the restaurant.
Need of Project / Gap Analysis
1. Lack of an official online presence for the restaurant: Presently, the restaurant lacks a proper
website where it can present its brand, services, and offerings in an organized and professional
way. Without an official website, customers do not have a unified platform to understand the
restaurant, see its menu, book, or interact with its services on the Internet. This lack hinders
the restaurant's online presence, making it more challenging to gain new customers and keep
current ones in today's internet-centric world. Having an official website is essential to build
credibility, share vital information, and give a consistent customer experience.
2. There is no effective online table bookings and inquiry system: The absence of an online
reservation system for tables compels clients to walk in without the certainty of being seated
or call the restaurant to inquire about availability. This labour-intensive process is usually
inconvenient for customers and ineffective for restaurant personnel, resulting in
miscommunication, reservation mistakes, and customer discontent. An integrated online
reservation feature would enable customers to see available time slots easily, reserve tables in
real-time, and get instant confirmation, increasing operational efficiency and customer
service.
3. Restricted customer interaction and feedback collection: Customer feedback is not currently
systematically gathered or effectively used to inform service enhancements. Without a
structured system for capturing reviews, suggestions, or complaints, the restaurant loses
meaningful opportunities to know customer tastes, resolve issues ahead of time, and foster
loyalty. A properly designed website can incorporate features like feedback forms, rating
systems, and testimonial displays, establishing a two-way communication channel between
the restaurant and its customers. Regular interaction and responsiveness to feedback can
significantly enhance the restaurant's reputation and customer satisfaction.
Objective of Proposed System
1. To develop an interactive and dynamic restaurant website.
2. To provide an online menu with updated pricing, special offers, and food
categories.
3. To integrate contact details and location with Google Maps for easy accessibility.
4. To improve customer engagement through a feedback and review system.
Proposed System
The proposed system will create a complete and user-friendly restaurant website that will be the
restaurant's official online presence. It will be designed with utmost care to increase customer
convenience, boost operational effectiveness, and make a solid digital impression. The system will
consist of the following major components:
1. Home Page: The Home Page will have a pleasing, visually appealing design that mirrors the
restaurant's brand and ambience. It will emphasize key aspects like special offers, signature dishes,
promotions, and events. Quick links to key services like the Menu, Table Booking, and Contact
Details will be placed prominently to facilitate easy navigation by users.
2. Services Section
Menu Display: The menu page shall organize food products into categories like vegetarian, non-
vegetarian, drinks, and sweets. Every menu option shall have a high-resolution photo, in-depth
description, cost, and labels for special offerings (e.g., spicy, chef's recommendation, new menu
items).
Room Booking: If the restaurant has rooms for private parties, events, or stays, a Room Booking
module will enable users to search for availability, choose room types, see prices, and book
seamlessly via the website.
Table Booking: An online table booking system will let customers book tables by selecting the
desired date, time, and party size. Available slots will be dynamically updated, and customers will be
sent booking confirmation via email or SMS.
Food Home Delivery: Orders for food can be placed by customers directly from the website for home
delivery. The system will have an order tracking facility so that customers can track the status of their
orders in real time from preparation to dispatch.
3. Review Section: The website will provide a specific page for customer reviews and ratings.
Customers can provide feedback on their delivery or dining experience, promoting trust building and
constant service enhancement.
4. Contact Page: This contact page will feature detailed contact details like phone numbers, email
addresses, and links to social media pages. There will be an embedded Google Map that will navigate
customers to the restaurant location. A basic and secure contact form will also enable visitors to
submit direct inquiries.
5. Admin Panel: An Admin Page will also be created to enable proper restaurant staff to update and
manage the website's content and services. Admin will be able to:
