2.1_Ex_5_Practice (1)

The document provides a set of example problems related to quadratic functions, asking for various characteristics such as coefficients, direction of opening, maximum or minimum points, y-intercepts, vertex points, axis of symmetry, and domain and range. Each problem requires the graphing of the quadratic function using key points. The examples include specific quadratic equations for analysis and graphing.

Example 5: For each problem, answer the following:

a) Identify a, b and c
b) Does the quadratic (or parabola) open up or down?
c) Why did the parabola (or quadratic) open up or down?
d) Is there a maximum or minimum?
e) What is the y-intercept (written as a point!)?
f) What is the maximum or minimum point?
g) What is the vertex point? (remember to write this as a point!-this should be the same answer
as maximum or minimum point)
h) What is the axis of symmetry? (remember to write this as x= #)
i) Graph the parabola (or quadratic) using the 5 MAIN points and the y-intercept!
j) What is the domain of the parabola?
k) What is the range of the parabola?
