The teacher will present the lesson through a

Nutritional Goals: Your diet and eating habits, which

play a crucial role in maintaining overall health. This
includes setting goals like eating more plant-based
meals, drinking enough water, and controlling portion
sizes.

Macronutrients and micronutrients are essential

nutrients that play critical roles in maintaining overall
health and well-being.

Macronutrients are nutrients that provide energy and

support growth and maintenance of body tissues.

The three main macronutrients are:

1. Carbohydrates: Provide energy for the body,

particularly the brain and muscles. Sources: grains,
fruits, vegetables, legumes.

2. Protein: Builds and repairs tissues, including

muscles, bones, and organs. Sources: animal products
(meat, dairy, eggs), legumes, nuts, seeds.

3. Fats: Provide energy, help absorb vitamins and

maintain healthy skin and hair. Sources: animal
products, nuts, seeds, oils.

Importance of Macronutrients:

1. Energy production

2. Growth and development

3. Maintenance of body tissues

4. Regulation of body functions

5. Support for physical activity

Micronutrients: Micronutrients are essential vitamins

and minerals that support various bodily functions,
including energy production, immune function, and bone
health.

The main micronutrients are:

1. Vitamins: A, C, D, E, K, and B vitamins

2. Minerals: Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium,

potassium, sodium, and others

Importance of Micronutrients:
1. Energy production
2. Immune system function
3. Bone health
4. Antioxidant functions
5. Regulation of body functions
6. Support for physical activity
7. Maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and eyes

Remember that a balanced diet of macronutrients and

micronutrients isn't just about preventing nutrient
deficiencies. It's also about maintaining your overall
well-being, supporting optimal physical and mental
performance, and presenting yourself in a positive and
healthy way.

Deepening understanding of the Key Idea/Stem

 The teacher will read a short story.

 The teacher will prepare pictures of all the foods
mentioned in the story, such as bread, rice, pasta,
apples, carrots, leafy greens, eggs, nuts, lean
meats, milk, cheese, candy, and fried foods.
 Each pupil sitting on a chair with a picture will hold it
without looking.
 As the teacher reads the story, when a specific food
is mentioned, the pupil holding that food will stand
up and raise the picture.

Story Time: The Healthy Mountain

In a small town called Healthy Mountain, all the children

loved to play and run around. But one day, they began
feeling tired, and their energy seemed to disappear.

"What’s happening to us?" wondered Mia, a curious girl

with bright eyes. Their teacher, Mrs. Green, noticed the
problem and decided to take them on an adventure. "Let’s
journey into the Food Pyramid and learn how to fuel our
bodies the right way!" she said with a smile. The children
followed Mrs. Green through a magical door and found
themselves in a colorful land.

At the base stood the Grains, towering over them like

golden fields of bread, rice, and pasta. “Grains give you lots
of energy to run, jump, and play,” explained Mrs. Green.
The children took some grains and felt instantly stronger.
Next, they climbed to the Vegetable and Fruit mountains.
"These foods help you stay strong and healthy," Mrs.
Green said, showing them apples, carrots, and leafy
greens. As they tasted them, they noticed they felt even
more awake and lively.

The next stop was the Proteins Forest, where trees grew
eggs, nuts, and lean meats. "Proteins help you build
muscles," Mrs. Green explained. The children ate some
and felt their muscles grow strong like superheroes. At the
top of the pyramid was the Dairy castle, where milk and
cheese floated like clouds. "Dairy keeps your bones
strong," Mrs. Green reminded them. The children drank
some milk and felt their bones grow sturdy.

Finally, Mrs. Green showed them the Fats and Sweets

area, where candy and fried foods stood like tempting
traps. "You can have a little, but too much of these can
make you tired," she warned. The children decided to skip
the sweets and stick to the healthier options. As they left
the Food Pyramid, the children felt full of energy and ready
to play. "I’ll remember to eat from all the food groups to
stay healthy!" Mia said, smiling brightly. And so, they
returned to Healthy Mountain, knowing the secret to staying
strong, active, and happy: balancing food from all the food
groups. The end.
