Part I - Check Video Guide

Prior to installing Reshade, you must refer to this video guide for correct
installation [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmAo3kxQ9vM]. Please
make sure to backup these three folders from Gshade called Shaders,
ComputeShaders, and Textures. If you are missing one or more folders, you
can download a copy of mine here.

Next, you can create a designated folder to save all these files and name it
“reshade-shaders”. I created my reshade-shaders folder within the game path:

1|WiFi Texture Guide

[C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm
Reborn\game\reshade-shaders]
Afterward, you should also create another folder within the game path to
store all your Gshade presets and name it “reshade-presets”. I save all my
presets in this path:
[C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm
Reborn\game\reshade-presets]

Part II – Download Reshade with Add-on Support

In order for Gshade shaders to work correctly in Reshade, you must
download “Reshade with Full Add-on Support”.

This is extremely important to avoid common issues such as flickering

ADOF, texture unable to load, shaders failing to compile, and many more.
During the setup, you also want to <SKIP> installing Reshade effect packages
because we want to use our copy of Gshade shaders.
After you finish your Reshade setup, you can go in-game and open Reshade
interface to set up some folder paths.

Part III – Reshade Directory Paths Setup
Once you open your Reshade interface within the game, you can click on the
Settings tab. Here, we want to set directory paths for the Effect Search
Paths and Texture Search Paths.

You must link both ComputeShaders and Shaders folders for the Effect
Search Paths. Meanwhile, you should also link the Texture folder accordingly
for the Texture Search Paths.
Effect Search Paths
[C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm
Reborn\game\reshade-shaders\ComputeShaders\]

Reborn\game\reshade-shaders\Shaders\]

Part IV – Textures Not Loading Despite Correct
Installation and Folder Paths Setup
First, for a preset that contains a texture, you should always double check if
any of the StageDepth.fx or Layer.fx are checked [✓]. You can do this by
typing StageDepth or Layer in the search bar.
Ideally for all my
presets, these
StageDepth shaders
should have been
checked by default.
However, sometimes
they get unchecked due
to random factors. The
main issue when this
happens is that the
ORDER of the shaders in
the preset will be
jumbled up.
Thus, I highly recommend replacing the preset .ini file with the original one
from the zipfile you download previously from my website.
Second, you can find which
texture is assigned to which
StageDepth or Layer by clicking
on the Edit Global Preprocessor
Definitions and Current Preset
tab.
For example, the picture on the
left side indicates that
“97.Trixi.png” texture is assigned
to StageDepth.fx and “91.Trixi.png”
texture is assigned to Layer2.fx.
If this tab appears blank even
though the preset contains a
texture, it means that the
shaders are missing or borked. In
this case you can refer to Part I
and replace them with my copy.

Part V – Preset Loads Correctly but Textures Only
Show “Please see the Gshade FAQ…”
When this occurs, there are two possibilities: you are probably missing
“StageDepth.fxh” in the shaders folder OR both your “StageDepth.fx and
“StageDepth.fxh” are outdated.

Head to your shaders

folder and check if you
have “StageDepth.fx”
and “StageDepth.fxh”.
The solution to this
issue is the same
whether you are
missing either one or
have both: replace
them with my copy.

You can download a copy of my “StageDepth.fx” and “StageDepth.fxh” here.

Then, place them the Shaders folder to replace your old ones.

Part VI – None of These Steps Work and Textures
Are Still Not Showing
This brings us to the last resort, which is to install Reshade version of
StageDepth.fx and Layer.fx Considering that this guide is tailored specifically
for my presets, I will only focus mostly on StageDepth because I don’t use
Layers.
You can download StageDepthPlus.fx from Corgi FX in this link:
https://github.com/originalnicodr/CorgiFX

[BONUS] You can download Layer.fx in this link:

https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/tree/master/Shaders

To set up StageDepthPlus in Reshade, you only need to copy

StageDepthPlus.fx and put it in the Shaders folder. You should also copy
these three textures called StageDepthmap.png, StageImage.png, and
StageMask.png and put it in the Textures folder.

Copy this one and paste it in:

[C:\Program Files
(x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL
FANTASY XIV - A Realm
Reborn\game\reshade-shaders]

Copy these three files and

paste them in:
[C:\Program Files
(x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL
FANTASY XIV - A Realm
Reborn\game\reshade-presets]

6|WiFi Texture Guide

Once you put the necessary files in your shaders and textures folders, you
can go in game and load your Reshade panel. Then you can search for
StageDepthPlus.fx and you will see this screenshot below for the settings.

Section A - You can adjust the blending mode similar to how Gshade
operates. In most presets, usually the blending mode would be either
"Lighten" or "Screen". But feel free to check and experiment with each one
according to your liking.
Section B - This is where you can adjust the depth of the texture. For
example, if you want the texture to appear in front of your character, you'd
move the slider towards the value of 1. The opposite is true if you want the
texture to appear behind your character. So adjust this depending on the
environment you're gposing in.
Section C - This is where you insert the texture PNG or JPG. Similarly with
Gshade, you must put a quotation mark before and after the texture name
(just like how you specify string format). For example "TextureName.png"

Part VII – Need Multiple Textures in StageDepthPlus
It is important to note that you can only use ONE texture per ONE
StageDepthPlus.fx. This means that if you want to use multiple textures, you
also need multiple StageDepthPlus shaders in your Shaders folder.
Fortunately, I've created a template for this, which you can find here.
The file is called ReShade Stagedepths.zip on my website.
In the zip file, I've included four extra StageDepthPlus shaders and one
template shader. You can simply place these extra four StageDepthPlus in
your Shaders folder. However, DO NOT put the template shader in your
Shaders folder as this was meant for editing.
With the template shader you can create endless number of StageDepthPlus,
First, you need to copy the template and rename it to StageDepthPlus[X].fx
“X” being a number. For example, you currently have 5 shaders of
StageDepthPlus. and you want to create a sixth one. So you will make a
copy of the template and name it StageDepthPlus6.fx.
Next, right click on the template.fx and open it in Text Editor. Then you can
select all by typing Ctrl+A and replace by typing Ctrl+H..

8|WiFi Texture Guide

In the Replace interface, type TEMPLATE for “Find what” and type any
number you want for “Replace with”. Going by my previous example, let’s say
I want to create StageDepthPlus6.fx, so I will type 6 in the “Replace with”
part. Afterward, hit “Replace All” and save it (Ctrl+S). Now you can copy this
into the Shaders folder, and you should have StageDepthPlus6.fx.

Part VIII – Adjusting Texture Depth

If you see the texture not going all the way, I’d recommend you to play
around with the slider adjustment for the [Depth] setting so you can
flexibly control the texture to appear behind/in front of you.

For example, if you want the texture to appear in

front of your character, you'd move the slider
towards the value of 1. The opposite is true if you
want the texture to appear behind your character. So
adjust this depending on the environment you're
gposing in.
