GUIDELINE
Purpose:
The purpose of writing of the Position Paper is grossly to see your country’s
point of view on the agenda. It also helps us to see your game plan or initiative
that you want to take in the committee.
Guideline:
1. For the first para, mention your committee's background and the
importance of your committee according to the agenda. This part is mainly
research based and your own inputs relating with the agenda may be
written in the later part of this para,
2. Your countries stance in one line is suggested to be mentioned in the first
line of the second para. Then continue with mentioning why your country
thinks the agenda is important while mentioning the past and present
situation of your country according to that. If your country has taken any
step which might be still in planning stage but will be taken in action in the
upcoming years, that should be mentioned as well. This para is also fully
research based and make sure to take informations from your own
country's website,
3. The last para is where your creativity will flourish as this para is mainly
focusing on what you want from the committee both as the representative
of your country and also as a competitor in your committee room. Best
way to utilize this para is to note down your solutions/possible outcomes
you are expecting in bullet points. Make sure to keep them precise.
4. Lastly mention the references of the informations you have used for the
position paper.
