Driver – Device Opton
●
Ribbon Type :Three types for your selecton
– YMCKO, Resin K and ½ YMCKO ribbon
●
Card Type :Six types for your selecton
– Blank card, 6-pin smart chip card, 8-pin smart chip card,
Magnetc stripe card, chip/Magnetc card and Adhesive
card
●
Quality Mode : The default setng is Quality
– If you uncheck the opton, the printng speed will increase but
the quality will decrease.
●
Printng Directon : Portrait or Landscape
– Lock checkbox : If you are using 3rd party sofware other than
CardDesiree CS and your computer's default printer is not
CS series, please check the checkbox to fx the printng
directon
●
Copies : Set the number of copies to print
●
Driver – Printng Area Setng
●
Purpose : You may modify areas which will be printed or unprinted.
– The dark area represents the area which will be printed. The blank
area represents the area where will not be printed (eg.
Magnetc/Chip card).
●
Overcoat/Dye Panel :
– You can edit the area which will be printed with over coatng or
not.
●
Resin K Panel :
– You can edit the area which will be printed with Resin K or not.
●
Design Area :
– You can select Standard or select a template fle with designed area
through the drop-down list..
– You can press [Edit Area] to create a new printng area.
Edit printng Area UI
●
Designed Area :
– You can choose default layout or customized layout previously
designed and saved through the drop-down list. If you would like
to create a new layout. please select [User defned] .
●
Delete : Delete the layout fle.
●
Save : Save the layout fle in a partcular folder afer editng.
●
Save as : Save the layout fle in any locaton afer the modifcaton.
●
Import : Import the layout fle from any locaton for editng.
●
Export : Export the layout fle to any locaton.
●
Add rectangle : Add a non-printng area. You can set the width, height
and positon of this area.
●
Erase rectangle : Delete a non-printng area.
●
Rectangle list : You can select a diferent rectangle from the rectangle list.
●
Reverse : Press the buton. You can inverse all non-printng areas to be
printng area.
●
Load preview image : You can load any image to adjust the positon of
the card and preview the efect afer adjustng.
●
Magnetc Strip positoning :
– Some Magnetc Strip positon is diference. You can use the buton
to adjust.
Driver – Color
●
Color:
– You can set print out color of your preference in this page.
●
Color preference setng : There are four optons
– HiTi Optmized Color(General):The standard color presentaton
– HiTi Optmized Color(Enhanced):Stronger contrast
– Windows Color Management : When applying this opton, please
check the .icc profle exist or not.
– Do not apply any color preference
●
Special Functon :
– Image Auto Enhancement(Default selected). The functon
increases print out color preference
●
Printer color Adjuster :
– You may adjust the printng color performance and sharpness via 8
slider bars or use “Reset” buton to return to the default setng.
●
Skin Tone Preference : You may adjust skin tone for your preference
through this functon.
– Redish Tone : relatvely Red color performance.
– Yellowish Tone : relatvely Yellow color performance.
●
Skin Tone adjuster :
– Yellow/Red Adjuster bar(Y/R bar) : The adjuster scale from -5 to 5,
displays the range of adjustment between Yellow and Red.
– Light/Dark Adjuster bar(L/D bar) : The adjuster scale from -5 to 5,
displays the range of adjustment between Light and Dark.
– Preview : This display the variaton of skin tone afer adjustng
these bars.
– Reset : Back to the original setng.
●
Color Chart : You may select a color range and print out a color chat to
check the print out color preference.
Driver-Tools
●
Tools: This page will not be worked if the PC does not connect to a CS
printer.
●
Printng Positon Adjuster : You may set the thickness of a card and
print out a test chart, then modify parameter[A] or [B] or [C] to adjust
printng positon.
●
Cleaning Tool : You can use the cleaning mode to clean your printer.
(Using cleaning card in the Ribbon pack)
●
Heatng Energy : You can set “YMC Dye“, “K“ parameters, from 1 to 10 to
decide the color intensity.
– If you select the YMCKO ribbon, you can adjust the parameters for
YMC and Resin K.
– If you select the Resin K ribbon, only Resin K parameter can be
adjusted.
Driver – Magnetc Encoding
●
Magnetc Encoding Data :
– Input Magnetc Data directly.
●
When you are not using the database, you can manually
input data for the magnetc stripe encoding.
– There are three tracks within the magnetc stripe.
●
The frst track includes alphanumeric characters and other
simple symbols.
●
The second and the third tracks accept numeric characters
only.
●
Using Database : Apply database for encoding
– Browse : browse the fle path for database
– Encoding Data Start From : Decide which data to start
encoding from database
– Database Sample : The format of database.
●
Encoding Port : The informaton about the connecton port.
●
Retry NO. : The tmes of retrying.
– Afer fnishing encoding, the encoder will automatcally read
the data for the verifcaton. If the reading fails, the device
can be set to repeat the process according to user's setng.
Driver - Import/Export
●
Import driver setng :
– You can import the [Device Opton] and [Color] page setng
from other computers to your computer.
●
Export driver setng :
– You can export the [Device Opton] and [Color] page setng
to other computers.
●
Notce :
– Import/Export functon does not include [Printng area] page.

Card Editng-Add a ID
●
How to add a ID Frame :
– Click “Add ID” in “Add layer's component” tool bar then the buton “Load
image” in ID inserton area.
– Load image methods

Loading images from fles : Directly loading images from fles.
●
Loading images from webcam : capture an image by a webcam.
●
Loading images from WIA (for Windows XP/ME) : capture an image
through WIA interface.
●
Loading images from TWAIN (for Win98/2000) : capture an image
through TWAINinterface.

How to adjust ID images
– Adjust the ID photo through the red frame for the area you would like to
focus on.
– Adjust the orientaton of the ID photo
– Click Apply buton in ID's inserton area.

ID Editng:
– Color Adjustment :Four butons :

Bright/Contrast, Hue/Saturaton, Color Balance and Skin
MiraBella (choice your favorite from 9 fne skin types)
– Image management : The following functons will work only afer you
have connectng to a database fle, opened Print Info (Print
Informaton Database).

Save post processing image : The functon work afer adjust
color propertes
●
Reload original photo : The functon work afer click “Save post
processing image”.
●
Confrm image existence :The functon work must point to a
“ODBC source (point to a fle name)”.
– When you click “Confim image existence”, the computer will
examine the images and the data you have marked in
“Printng Informaton database”. If an image does not exist
in the path, a dialog is shown as the fgure on the right.
Afer you click “OK”, the data without the image will not be
marked in “Printng Informaton database”. Afer you mark
– Change image shape:

The shape of ID photo frame is not limited to a regular square.
Click on the buton and select your favorite shape.

Select the shape which you want.
Card Editng-Add a Background
●
How to add a background image :
– Click “Import background” in “Add layer's component” tool bar
●
Editng :
– Rotaton : Rotate 90° counterclockwise, Rotate 90° clockwise,
Rotate 180° and Mirror
– Size : Fit to with, Fit to Height and Fit to Frame
– Color Adjustment : Bright/Contrast, Hue/Saturaton and Color
Balance
– Advanced setng :

Choose diferent ribbon type to print. Using resin K ribbon
means using the K layer of YMCKO ribbon to print the
background in black and white image. You could also
adjust the printng result through the “Threshold bar” and
preview directly.
Card Editng-Add an image
●
How to add an image:
– Click “Add image” buton in “Add layer's component tool bar” to
add an image from the assigned source. The added image would
not be defned like an ID photo
●
Editng:
– Rotaton : Rotate 90° counterclockwise, Rotate 90° clockwise,
Rotate 180° and Mirror
– Color Adjustment : Bright/Contrast, Hue/Saturaton and Color
Balance
– Advanced setng :

The image is similar as a background.
●
If you select “Resin K ribbon” : You can set “transparency”
●
If you select “YMC ribbon” : You can set “transparency” and
”tolerance“ for R, G, B value.

●
How to add a bar code :
– Click “Add bar code” buton in “Add layer's component tool bar”

Card Editng-Add Line and Figure

How to add Line or Figure:
– Click “Add Line ” or “Add Figure” buton in “Add layer's
component tool bar”
●
Editng:
– Color : You can choose the color for Line and Figure by inputng
fgures in the blanks under R/G/B, or click the color board.
– Line width : you can also choose diferent width for line, Rectangle
and Circle which is not flled up.
– Printng Method : Using diferent ribbon to print
Card Editng-Layer Control
●
All layers are shown in the archive (They may include Color Text, Resin
Text, Background, Barcode perhaps ID frame photo) , you can focus on
one of them and click mouse right buton to adjust
●

●
In the editng area, you can focus the layer by clicking the mouse buton.
If there is a focused layer, then the menu below will pop out.
Card Editng – Print a card
●
Afer the editng is done, click “print” buton in edit area to print the card.
The printng dialog as follow.
●
Printng dialog:
– Select printer : Hit CS-2 series, CS-300 or 640DL-Amphi for your
optons.
– Ribbon optons: YMCKO, Resin K or ½ YMCKO ribbon for your
optons.
– Printng Setng: Print current job or selected job.
– Rotaton setng: You could rotate the image 180 degrees while
printng.
– Number of copies & Total number of prints.
– The limitaton of print jobs in the print queue: From 3 to 10 and
unlimited jobs.
– Resin Dither : Using an algorithm to transfer the color image to
black and white.
– Uncheck the “Print?” column afer sending the print jobs to the
print queue.

The property work must connect to the “print info.
●
Notce : Cancel Printng
– While printng, you can click “Cancel” to stop printng.
– When you click the “Cancel” buton, the print job which has
already been sent to the print spool will STILL be printed out.
– However, when you click “Cancel” buton, the print job which has
NOT been sent to the print spool will be canceled.
Encoding Functons
Encoding–Contact and Contactless

Contact Card Encoding
Functon
– You can apply encoding
functons to a 6-pin
Smart Chip card , 8-
pin Smart card , and
Chip Magnetc Card.
Afer you select
“Contact Smart Card”,
there will be a blank in
the editng area of the
front side.

-- Command Line: The fle path to launch the encoding functon
– Arguments: Parameters pass to the launched Applicaton.
– Data to Encode: Data Source for encoding.

You can input encoding data directly. Or you can select
Counter Source 、 Date/Time Source 、 Concatenaton
Source or ODBC Source as your data source.
●
Insert Quote Character : You can input quotaton mark
once you mark this item.
– Optons for Contnuous Printng :
●
Confrm before printng .
●
Check the fle before printng (“Yes” to print): Afer
checking the fle, faw contact smart cards will not be
printed and only perfect contact smart cards will be
Encoding–Magnetc Stripe
●
Contact Card Encoding Functon
– You can apply encoding functons to a Magnetc Stripe Card or
Chip Magnetc Card. Afer you select “Magnetc Stripe Card”,
there will be a blank in the editng area of the back side.

You can select tracks you would like to encode and decide the d
ata source :

Select a target table. When you have
more than one table in a database
fle, you can assign the target one
in this dialogue box, and then
click on [Finish].
Database - Layer Mapping
●
How to perform “Layer Mapping”
– Afer choosing [Layer Mapping], the layer name and its mapping
status will be shown in source data dialogue. If you have not
made any setng, it will show “No Mapping” in the “Source”
column.
– Choose the target Layer. If you choose ID or Background layer,
there would be six kinds of sources shown in the drop-down list.
●
No mapping : No need to set any source for the target layer.
●
Event Source : To assign an event source to the layer.
●
Webcam Source: To assign a webcam source to the layer.
●
WIA Source: To assign a WIA source to the layer.
●
TWAIN Source: To assign a TWAIN source to the layer.
●
ODBC Source: To assign an ODBC source to the layer.
– If you choose the text or barcode layer, there will be fve kinds of
sources shown in the drop-down list.
●
No mapping : No need to set any source for the target layer.
●
Counter Source: To assign a counter source to the layer.
●
Date/Time Source: To assign a date or tme source to the layer.
●
Concatenaton Source: To assign a concatenaton source to the
layer.
●
ODBC Source: To assign an ODBC source to the layer.
– Afer you fnish setng the data source, press [Apply].
– Afer set all the layers, the source column would show all the
outcomes. Press [OK] buton to complete the layer mapping

●
Counter Source :To assign a counter source to the layer.
– Preview: To preview the outcome.
– No. of fxed digits: To set the number digits for the counter.
– Keep zero ahead.
– Inital value: To set the inital value.
– Increment by: To set the increment.
– Press [Apply] afer fnishing the setng.
– eg : Input 3 in “No. of fxed digits”,
check the box of “Keep zero
ahead”, input 5 as the inital
value, 2 as the increment, and
then a series of numbers like
005, 007, 009, 011… will be
shown in preview secton 。

Date/Time Source :To assign a date/tme source to the layer.
– Preview: To preview the outcome.
– Source selecton: Date Source or Time Source.
– Style : Set date/tme display type
– Separator: To set the separaton char.
– Keep zero ahead
– Press [Apply] afer fnishing the setng.
– eg: check the date source, choose
“mm dd yyyy” as the display
source, ”/” as the separaton,
tck the box of “Keep zero
ahead”, and if the date of the
system 2006.2.22, the preview
would be 02/22/2006 。

Concatenaton Source : Assign a concatenaton source to the layer.
– Afer you click on [Record list], the data list would pop out.
●
All the columns inside (the right side) would be the one
which has been assigned to a certain layer.
●
Other columns would be veiled automatcally.
●
Drag the boundaries to reveal veiled columns. The column
blocked in the lef side displays “Print Informaton”.
– Click on [Search] buton, the search
dialogue would pop out.
●
Search dialogue:
– Select a feld to search: choose the target column you want
to search.
– Search Data: Input the conditon of the search.
– Match whole word only: The search should match with the
exact word type in the blank of “Search data”.
– Match case: The search is now case sensitve
– Check the selected data:
●
The check box of the found data which you search
would be tcked. This functon is for the ease of
specifc data printng.
●
The functon work must connect to a “print info.”
database.
– If there are more than one data found, press [Next] to show
the next data
– At the top lef corner of the search dialogue would display
●
Click on [Query] buton, the query dialogue would pop out.
– Please use ">","<

– If you want to keep the latest conditons for [Queiy]. You can save

– How to preview and search by using the tool bar of the main menu

Preview opton: Unmark the fag, you can preview all data in
“Printng Informaton” database; however, afer marking the
fag, you can preview only the data which you marked in
“Printng Informaton” database
●

Search (Same as the “Search by [Record list]”)
Database – “Print Info.” database
●
What is “Print Informaton Database”?
– Afer a user processes ID images, these setng parameters, such as
size, locaton and color propertes, will be added into “Print
Informaton”. In additon, “Print Informaton” displays which
data will be printed ; printed quanttes of each data and when
data were printed. Thus “Print Informaton” reveals the
following informaton for each data:

Print ? : Print or not?
●
Printed : Printed quanttes
●
Print Time : The latest printng tme of the data.
●
Total Prints : The total print quanttes of each data
●
How to build up a “Print Informaton Database”?
– Open Data List through Recoid List afer connect to a database.
– Print Informaton will be displayed on the lef including of
dialogue.
– The grey color area on the lef represents Print Informaton
Database has not been created or opened.
– Before you open Print Informaton Database, all the adjustments
for ID photo including size, locaton and color propertes can not
be recorded.
– please press [Print Info.] to open or create your Print Informaton
database.
– Before you build up the frst “Print Informaton Database”, this fle
“Print Informaton Database” does not exist in your folder. Thus
while you are building up the frst “Print Informaton Database”,
a dialogue would pop out to remind you and ask you if you
would like to create this fle or not. Please click “OK” to contnue
to build up “Print Informaton Database”.
– The computer system will ask
you to select a feld as an
index key in order to
connect to the original
database. Please select one
feld involving diferent data
without repeatng as an

be Null”, please press “OK” to
complete building up “Print

Afer completng this process, the Data List will display the following
informaton:
– The lef side will display “Print Informaton Database” and enable . The
enable means the Print Informaton Database is open.

Print informaton UI :Descripton
– Print? : You can select which data you are interested in printng or
previewing.
– Printed: Printed quanttes for each data.
– Print Time: The latest printng tme of each data.
– Total Prints: The total print quanttes of each data.
– Select All: You can use this functon to check or uncheck all data.
– Disable: Close “Pint Informaton” database.
– Print Job Control: Include Check/ Uncheck setngs and Clear
record.

– Clear column :

You could reset the
“Printed” or
“Print_Time” column.
– Check/ Uncheck setngs: You could set the rules for each column
to decide which data should be checked or unchecked
DBM
●
Descripton : If user does not have any database editor
sofware, DBM is a simple Applicaton to help user to create
a database.

DBM – Edit
●
How to create a New Database File
– Menu Bar -> File -> New, Then
press [Biowse].
– Modify Field :
●
Please start from Menu Bai : FieldModify Field. A dialogue
would pop out, and you can press [New] to add a new feld
or press [Delete] to delete a feld.
●
you can directly right-click the buton of the mouse on the feld
you would like to modify and you will have the following
optons : Descent Soit, Ascent Soit, Delete Field, Cut,
Copy, Paste, and Piimaiy Key setng.
– Add/Delete Record :select Menu Bai : RecoidAdd Recoid 或
Delete Recoid
●
Add Recoid : Once you select [Add Record] , the
cursor will automatcally move to the last line of the
table and the user can input data.
●
Delete Recoid : When you select [Delete Record] , the
whole line where the arrow locates will be deleted
●
Setngs for Images Preview
– First, you need to save all the images fles you need in the same folder (The user
can browse the folder path or directly input the path of the folder in the blank
of [File Folder] shown as A in the following illustraton).
– Type all the fle names sequentally into a certain feld of the database (shown as
B in the following illustraton). For example, if you put all the image fles in the
subfolder ”PM” which is in the folder “CStest” in disc D, and you also key in all
the image fle names into a feld call “Photofled” in your database. Please
input “D:\CStest\PM\” in the blank of [File Folder] or press [Browse] for the
folder of the images fles path.
– Select Field Name in the drop down list of [File Name] (shown as C in the
following illustraton) and select “.jpg” in the blank of [File Extend] (shown as
D in the following illustraton). Then, the image which the arrow (shown as E
in the following illustraton) locates will be shown in the preview area.
