The project focuses on developing an Arduino-based transformer protection system that monitors current levels and isolates the transformer in case of faults to prevent overheating and damage. It utilizes a relay, contractor, LCD for current readings, and a buzzer for alarms, all controlled by a microcontroller. The conclusion emphasizes that such protective measures enhance reliability, reduce outages, and facilitate quicker power restoration through remote indication via SMS.

PROJECT TITLE : PROTECTION OF TRANSFORMER

ABSTRACT MODAL PIC
Our aim is to protect the whole Transformer from major fault. The main
intension of this project is to describe Arduino based system that can be used
in a transformer protection. The system checks the operating parameters of
the transformer i.e. current and reports the quantity that is flowing through the
transformer. The system is designed such that it is able to detect current
above the normal operating level and isolate the transofrmer from faulty line or
parts. This isolation process is to ensure that the transformer is safe from any
excess current levels that can make it to overheat thus get damaged.

A relay and a contractor have been used as the switching gears to isolate the
transformer from the power system in case a fault occurs. A LCD has been
used to show system current reading and indicate cases of over-current fault.
All the devices are depend on micro controller to make them operate. A buzzer
have been used which gives alarm in faulty condition.

CONCLUSION
Here we can conclude that by providing adequate methods of protecting devices like our project we can increases the reliability
and reduce outages. Reducing outages also reduce maintenance costs. Remote indication by SMS decreases the downtime and
re-establishment of power supply can be done quickly.
