11. (a) If the events A and B are independent then prove that A and B
also independent event. (CO1)
(b) A bag contains 5 balls and it is not known how many of them
are white. Two balls are drawn at random from the bag and they
are noted to be white. What is the chance that all the balls in the
bay are white?

14. (a) The number of monthly breakdown of a computer is a RV
having a Poisson distribution with mean equal to 1.8. Find the
probability that this computer will function for a month.
(i) without a breakdown
(ii) with only one breakdown
(iii) with atleast one breakdown (CO2)
(b) The mileage which car owners get with a certain kind of radial
tire is a RV having an exponential distribution with mean 40,000
Km. Find the Probabilities that one of these tires will last (i) at least
20,000 km and (ii) at most 30,000 km.

15. The joint probability mass function of (X, Y) is given by
