AICTE ACTIVITY POINT PROGRAMME

Introduction

Apart from technical knowledge and skills, to be successful as professionals, students should have
excellent soft skills, leadership qualities and team spirit. They should have entrepreneurial
capabilities and societal commitment. In order to match these multifarious requirements, AICTE has
created a unique mechanism of awarding minimum 100 Activity Points over and above the
academic grades.
Every regular student, who is admitted to the 4 years degree programme, is required to earn
100 Activity Points in addition to the required academic grades, for getting 4 Years degree
programme. Students entering 4 years Degree programme through lateral entry are required to earn
75 Activity Points, in addition to the academic grades, for getting 4 years’ degree program. Similarly,
Diploma students are required to earn 75 Activity Points during 3 years of their diploma programme.
Every student is required to prepare a file containing documentary proofs of activities, done
by him/ her. This file will be duly verified by the concerned evaluator. The student should earn at
least 100 activity points before he/ she appears for his/ her Final Examinations. The points students
have earned will be reflected on the student’s transcript.
As proposed under the AICTE Rural Internship Programme, if a student completes any long
term goal during his degree programme, it will be counted as Internship Activity and credit
requirement for the internship is fulfilled. However, if only short term interventions under the
programme are attempted it will be counted towards AICTE Activity Point Programme requisite.

Women empowerment in India is dependent up to a great extent on numerous different variables
that encompass geographical setting (urban/rural), social status (caste and class), educational status, and
age factor. Actions on the women empowerment exist at the state, local (panchayat), and national levels.
The Constitution of India has certain provisions that specifically focus on women empowerment
and prevents discrimination against women in the society. Article 14 talks about equality before law.
Article 15 enables the state to make special provisions for women
Women's empowerment has five components: women's sense of self-worth; their right to have and to
determine choices; their right to have access to opportunities and resources; their right to have power to
control their own lives, both within and outside the home; and their ability to influence the direction of

welfare of our surroundings. These activities help us to develop leadership qualities, courage and
communication skill.
As we completed Women Empowerment Programme, Women empowerment means
empowering women with all their rights like a man in family, society, school, college, and country. It
enables them to make independent decisions for their personal development, the position of women in
Indian society is still backward due to gender inequality.

Initiative of Government of India.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a national level campaign launched by the Government of India is a major
step towards the protection of degrading environment. The objectives of the campaign include elimination
of open defecation, conversion of insanitary toilets to pour flush toilets, eradication of manual scavenging
and above all to bring about a behavioural change in people regarding healthy sanitation practices and to
ensure public participation in achieving these objectives. With this aim, a cleanliness drive organized under
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Programme at K Bevinahalli. As a part of this cleanliness drive, we cleaned the
main areas of the village.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has captured attention. Has witnessed active involvement, from both
the government and the public. It has resulted in the construction of toilets throughout the country. Played
a significant role in reducing open defecation. This campaign is widely regarded as a step towards
enhancing health, sanitation and fostering a cleaner and healthier environment in India. The Swachh Bharat
Abhiyan is an initiative that forms part of a vision to create a more sustainable, clean and healthy India.

ACTIVITY-04

TO SPREAD AWARENESS AND IMPORTANCE OF VOTING

We have embarked on an extensive campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the pivotal
importance of voting in our democratic society. Our multifaceted approach involves organizing community
workshops where we engage citizens in insightful discussions about the electoral process and the impact of
their votes. Additionally, we've hosted educational seminars to provide in-depth information on voter
registration, polling procedures, and the broader implications of civic participation. Leveraging the reach
of social media platforms, we share compelling content, inspiring stories, and key information to a diverse
audience. Collaborating with local organizations, schools, and community groups, we aim to amplify our
impact and reach individuals from all walks of life. Our mission is to cultivate a sense of responsibility and
empowerment among citizens, emphasizing that each vote contributes to the collective voice that shapes
the trajectory of our nation. By fostering informed and engaged voters, we aspire to fortify the pillars of
our democracy and ensure a more vibrant and representative political landscape.

 In 2014, India had voting percentage of 66.44 as compared to 58.21% in 2009.

 Increase in Women voters: Women lack behind only by 1.4% as compared to Men’s turnout in 2014.
Also, there are many states now, where women outnumber men in terms of turnout.
 In 2014, India saw a huge increase in Youth Turnout as compared to previous elections.
 Abraham Lincoln’s idea and philosophy of Democracy i.e. Democracy is the government of the people,
by the people and for the people, can be translated to reality only through voting.
 Sense of Empowerment: Through voting, people have a sense of ‘ownership of government’.
 To make government more responsible and accountable: Indian voters have brought revolutionary
changes, in that regard, through voting e.g. in 1967, when Congress Government was not working as
per the aspirations of the people, people brought the Congress Government to very thin majority at the
center and almost half of the State Governments were given to non-congress parties.
 By voting, people can decide the direction of change and development.
 To express oneself i.e. Voting helps people in expressing their thoughts on a country, local constituency
or about a candidate through the ballot box.
OUTCOME

In summary, our campaign to raise awareness about the importance of voting has been a dynamic effort.
Through community engagement, educational initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we've empowered
citizens with the knowledge to actively participate in democracy. Utilizing social media, we've amplified
our message, inspiring diverse individuals to recognize the impact of their votes. Our collaborative
approach with local organizations has expanded our reach, fostering a sense of responsibility among
citizens. As we navigate this journey, our collective aim is to strengthen the democratic fabric by ensuring
every vote counts and contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our nation.

PLANTATION

I am going to tell you importance of tree plantation, I has taught me to respect each and every thing
around me in which nature is also included. There are several reasons why the process of plantation is
important for the environment. Essays on the importance of planting trees of different lengths are provided
here to help you with this subject in your examination. You can choose essay on importance of any
plantation according to your requirement: Plantation is good for the environment. Everyone knows that
trees are a source of oxygen. They take carbon dioxide and release oxygen without which the existence of
living beings on Earth is not possible. Apart from consuming carbon dioxide, trees also absorb many
harmful gases including sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide and also filter harmful pollutants from the
atmosphere allowing us to breathe fresh and clean air. The increasing amount of air pollution caused by
smoke emitted by vehicles and factories can only be controlled when we plant more and more trees.

Background:
Government of INDIA declared from 1st July to 7th July as a VAN MAHOTSAV or Forest Festival.
Under this event Government promoted many institutions to plant as many trees in their surrounding area.
As a part of Service to the Nation, we bind to contribute to the activities which are beneficial to the
improvement of society.
Objective:
Trees play an important role in reducing the air pollution and to maintain the good quality air level in
an environment. Trees are also useful to reduce the erosion of soil which may lead to high flood situation.
So, every individual shall try to plant as many trees as possible. Because day by day pollution level in an
environment is becoming worse. Hence to overcome this situation tree plantation is the only solution we
have
Objective behind selecting Netravathi Park:
As surrounding area quiet, a distance from Netravathi Park is overcrowded by vehicles of all types. So,
it may lead to increase in air pollution level of the said area. This area is also surrounded by several
educational institutions including from schools’ collages and tuition centers. So, tree plantation in this
area will help to maintain good air quality in coming days.
Outline of Activity:
The objective of this activity to plant as many trees in available area which are beneficial to
environment. The municipal corporation staff at the park provided all necessary support to complete this
activity successfully.
Conclusion:
1. We understood the importance of tree plantation and types of trees which are beneficial to maintain
clean environment.
2. Realized impact of air pollution on society.
The objective of this activity to plant as many trees in available area which are beneficial to
environment. The municipal corporation staff at the park provided all necessary support to complete this
activity successfully.
