Up to now, Vietnam has invested in many large and small foreign projects, and of course we cannot

forget the World Bank and the Priority Infrastructure Project and Urban Development Adaptive to
the Climate change in Vinh City, Nghe An province.
This is a monumental project aimed at strengthening flood resilience and improving infrastructure,
transportation and public space hygiene in Vinh City, a political, economic and political center,
culture of the North Central Coast of Vietnam. World Bank Board of Directors approved on July 28,
2023. The project design reflects lessons learned on urban resilience and disaster risk management
in Vietnam, and is based on the Bank's National Climate and Development Report for Vietnam. World
Bank, the information supports the city's capacity to project and respond to flooding and participate
in more climate-sensitive sensor measurements. Investment accounts include flood control systems,
wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, and transportation connectivity to promote
sustainable and resilient urban growth. climate change.Vinh city lacks the ability to cope with heavy
rain, leading to rainwater stagnation in many different places in the city. To improve the drainage
system, a new retention pond will be built to prevent stormwater runoff from entering the city's
larger drainage basin. The project will also support the conversion of vacant land on both sides of the
Vinh River into public green space, while improving waste collection and classification to reduce the
amount of plastic waste discharged into the river with a loan of 129.6 million. USD, 250 thousand
people in the Vinh urban center area will directly benefit from reducing flood risks and improving
community health. Once completed, the project will connect 30,000 households to newly built or
renovated secondary and tertiary sewer systems, while halving the time women have to do
housework after flooding, including housecleaning. The project will contribute to improving
adaptation to climate change by reducing damage caused by heavy rains, and minimizing the effects
of climate change by improving living conditions in the city center and building Build pedestrian and
bicycle lanes. In my opinion, i think The Vinh City project not only has infrastructure goals; but a
transformational effort to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of Vinh City. Besides,
climate change is one of the serious problems and needs to quickly have reasonable solutions to
improve people's lives. The project not only brings great benefits to Vietnam but also demonstrates
the World Bank's commitment to supporting Vietnam in achieving sustainable urbanization and
growth adapted to climate change.
