Reflection on the Stress Management Group
Describe
strategies, and ways to build resilience. We discussed exercises such as deep breathing
techniques, mindfulness activities, and cognitive reframing to better understand how to manage
stress effectively. Each member shared personal experiences with stress, and we explored how
different coping mechanisms impacted our well-being. The group also reviewed the
physiological and psychological effects of stress and how self-care plays a role in managing
stress levels.
Feel
Throughout the session, I experienced a mix of emotions. Initially, I felt a bit anxious
about sharing personal experiences, but as the discussion progressed, I became more comfortable
and engaged. It was reassuring to hear others talk about similar struggles, which fostered a sense
of connection and support. I also felt encouraged by the coping strategies shared, as they
provided practical tools that I could implement in my daily life. However, there were moments
of frustration when discussing how stress can sometimes feel overwhelming despite our best
efforts.
Evaluate
One of the most positive aspects of the experience was the open and supportive
environment within the group. Everyone felt comfortable sharing their thoughts, which fostered a
sense of connection and understanding. Time constraints limited our ability to explore certain
The difficulty I experience with mindfulness exercises likely stem from my tendency to
overthink and analyze situations, making it challenging to stay present. This issue was not unique
to me—other group members also expressed similar struggles, which highlighted that
mindfulness requires practice and patience. Some participants shared that they use guided
meditations or grounding techniques to help maintain focus, which provided valuable insight into
how I might improve my own mindfulness practice. The feedback from the group reassured me
that struggling with focus is normal and that consistent effort can lead to improvement over time.
Conclude
A general conclusion I can draw from this experience is that stress is a universal
challenge, but there are many effective ways to manage it. Each individual responds differently

mindfulness sessions daily, gradually increasing the duration. Additionally, I plan to explore
different techniques, such as body scans or guided visualizations, to see which method works
best for me. Next time, I will also take more notes during the discussion to retain key insights
and strategies shared by the group. By implementing these changes, I hope to enhance my stress
management skills and make mindfulness a more effective tool in my daily routine.
