🎭 THE MAGPIE AND THE MILK – Costumes & Props

🧥 Costumes (Simple and Easy to Make):


Character Costume Ideas

Narrator Plain clothes with a storyteller vest, or a black outfit with a


sash/scarf.

Magpie Black shirt and pants with paper or felt wings (black & white),
feather headband.

Farmer Apron, straw hat, plain dress or pants & shirt, rubber boots.

Cow White T-shirt and pants with black spots (can be drawn or stuck
on), cow ears headband.

Field Green shirt and pants, with fake grass or leaves stuck on, flower
crown optional.

River Blue clothes with shiny streamers or fabric flowing down arms,
maybe bubbles.

Cloud White, fluffy hat or cap, white clothes, cotton cloud props or
pillow stuffing.

Extra Characters (if Similar nature-themed outfits: butterflies, sun, grass, etc.
included)

🎬 Props:
●​ A bucket (real or cardboard) with pretend milk inside (paper or cotton balls).​

●​ A tail (felt or string of feathers) for the magpie to lose and get back.​

●​ Cheese (yellow paper or sponge shaped like cheese).​

●​ A wooden spoon or ladle for the farmer.​

●​ A mini watering can (field scene).​

●​ A cup or container for river water.​

●​ A bowl of “grass” (green ribbon, paper strips).​


●​ Optional: A fire made of colored paper flames and sticks.​

Magician Dark robe or cloak, pointy hat or turban, fake beard optional.

Genie of the Ring Red or dark outfit with sparkly scarf or glitter face paint.

Genie of the Lamp Bright orange or gold clothes, head wrap or turban, sparkly
accessories.

Princess Zadia Long flowing dress, tiara or fancy scarf, golden sash.

King Crown, royal robe or cloak, gold accessories.

Market Girl Simple tunic with a scarf, basket or bag.

Palace Guard Toy armor or vest, hat or helmet, stick spear or foam sword.

Magic Ball (voice) Glowing orb prop (can be held or just a light), mystical robe or
sparkles.

🎬 Props:
●​ Magic lamp (small teapot or genie lamp toy).​

●​ Magic ring (big fake ring or plastic jewel).​

●​ Gold coins/jewels (plastic treasure or craft jewels).​

●​ Silver food trays (plastic trays with fake food).​

●​ Toy horse or stick horse for Aladdin’s grand entrance.​


●​ Mini palace model (cardboard cutout or drawing).​

●​ Bag of money (felt pouch filled with cotton).​

●​ Rope (for scene where Aladdin is tied up).​

●​ Cup for potion scene (Princess gives to magician).​

●​ Fake sword or staff (for magician).​

●​ Optional: Music props (small tambourine, pretend flutes) for the party scene.​
