The Lost Kitten

Lily was walking home from school when she heard a soft meow coming from the bushes.
She stopped and looked around. Hidden between the leaves was a tiny, white kitten with big
blue eyes. It looked scared and hungry.

Lily carefully picked up the kitten and held it in her arms. “Where is your home, little one?”
she asked. She looked around but didn’t see any other cats. She decided to take the kitten
home and give it some milk.

When she reached home, her mother smiled and said, “We should ask around and see if
someone lost their pet.” Lily agreed, but she hoped she could keep the kitten. The next day,
they put up posters in the neighborhood. A little boy named Ben soon came running to their
house. “That’s my kitten, Snowy!” he cried happily.

Lily felt a little sad, but she knew she did the right thing. Ben thanked her and promised she
could visit Snowy anytime. Lily smiled, knowing that helping others always feels good.
