RE: INVITATION TO EXHIBIT FOR INTERNATIONAL NURSES AND MIDWIVES CELEBRATION,

KAMPALA

Greetings to you.

As a community interest organization registered in England and Wales, we aim to uphold the nursing
professional standards by fostering shared learning, conducting research to improve care outcomes, and
supporting career progression. This year, to celebrate the International Nurses and Midwives Week (3rd
May - 12th May 2025), I/we are delighted to host an international guest, Professor Laura Serrant, CBE, a
professor of Nursing and Director of Laura Serrant Limited. She is also the Chairperson of Sheffield
Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, UK. We are delighted to host Prof Serrant in Kampala for her
first African visit.

Professor Serrant is a global, multi-award-winning Leadership development and Inclusive practice

specialist, registered nurse, professional speaker, and experienced coach. She is the Director of her own
Leadership Development and Executive Coaching business, Laura Serrant Limited, and is currently Chair
of The Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She is one of the few academic Professors to
have developed and published a research framework for exploring the often unseen or unreported aspects
of human experience, ‘The Silences Framework’ (Serrant-Green 2010). Professor Serrant will officiate as
one of our chief guests for our special national celebrations, which include the launch of our Nurses’
Exhibition on 9th May 2025 at Mulago.

The Nurses Exhibition, the first of its kind in Uganda, is one of our major celebrations this year. It will be
held at Mulago Hostel, Kampala, and is set to run for 4 days. See the attached announcers.

Objectives of the exhibition include:-

1.​ Raise the profile of nursing and help more people understand the nurses' contribution to
improving the nation’s health.
2.​ Highlight the importance of history and pioneer Nurses and Midwife leaders (before 1990) whose
efforts shaped the Nursing and Midwifery fraternity;
3.​ Consider the importance of legacy in the development of a profession.
4.​ Reflect on the lessons of the lived experiences of pioneering nurses.
5.​ Understand why museums are important.
6.​ Motivate and attract the young generation to consider nursing and midwifery as a career.

This letter is to extend the opportunity for your organisation as an Institute to exhibit and utilise the event
to showcase your training institute. For a reasonable fee, both organisations benefit mutually. Please see
