Account Management Application Manual._ENG
Abstract
In order to facilitate the production unit operators to effectively manage the production line, Syntec controller
provides the permissions management feature that allow machine maker or plant managers to setup
accounts for different types of operators such as general operator, production technician, equipment
engineer and programmer. Setting corresponding authority for each personnel to prevent operation error
which may causing equipment failure and protect classified production IP.
(Note 1) Account and Password can be a combination of leters and numbers, maximum 8 characters.
(Note 2) When logging in with SYNTEC account, a hint code will be shown in the lower-left corner. contact
SYNTEC staff to get correct password with this code.

User Login
After pressing the "User Login ", a standard login window pops up. Use ↑ ↓ to switch focus, press Enter after
typing to fill the login window, and then press OK to sign in .
Besides the above entry procedures, when entering a directory that the user has no viewing or editing
authority, a "special login window " will pop out to ask user to log in. Use ↑ ↓ to move cursor between two
input boxes and enter correct ID & password, press OK to login.
(Note) The special login window can use Plant Manager (U) account only, Syntec customer service (SYNTEC)
and Machine Maker (M) can only login through standard login window.
User Logout
The [Logout] key locates next to [Login] key, user shall logout immediately once the key is pressed.
Forget Password
A prompt window will pop up after pressing [Forget Password].
Reset Password
Press the [Reset Password] key and an input window pops up as below. Current system allows Machine
Maker(M) and the Plant Manager(U) to reset the password.
When entering M or U as accounts, a hint code will appear at lower-left corner. Contact SYNTEC staff for the
"verification code" to proceed the password reset. Enter the correct verification code and press F1 Ok, the
passwords of U and M .
Authority Management
This interface requires Syntec service (SYNTEC), Machine Maker (M) or Plant Manager (U) authority. Use
standard login with corresponding accounts, each level has different authority management functions.
This screen displays the highest accessability of all directories, cannot edit.
Change Password
Press [Change Password], a Change Password window pops out. Use ↑ ↓ switching focus, then enter old &
new passwords for Machine Maker account. A message window will show once the password change is
successful. Now use new password to login with Machine Maker account.
An error message will be displayed if the new password does not match.
(Note) Plant Manager can set the authority of all other accounts including Default, but limited by the Machine
Maker's authority setting.
To change account setting, press "Edit" and the cursor will select the current account move to the right side
and the "Account" & "Password" can now be edited. Similar to previous settings, use ↑ ↓ to move the cursor
and Page Up/Down to flip pages. F1~F3 can switch the accessibility status of the item that the cursor is at.
Press "Add" to create new account, a new account will appear. Now the user can setup its name, password,
and accessibility to all items. Press ESC to move cursor back to accout list.
Press "Copy" to create an account at the end of the list with identical accessibility settings. Move cursor to
edit account, password, and permissions to all screen list. Press ESC to move cursor back to account list.
Press "Find" to activate a search window. Enter the account name and press F1 to look for the target
account. Press F2 or ESC to cancel to window.
I-Bit lock
Version: available for 10.118.40G、10.118.44 and above.
In case to raise security level and prevent authority problems due to password leaking/high level operators
not log out, I-Bit authority lock function offers a specific I-Bit (Set by System Integrator) to replace the original
password login/logout mechanism.
System Integrator can set up a key mapping to the I-Bit, operators should use the key to do login/logout.
Introduction
• When I-Bit lock function is enabled, password login/logout will not be available.
• Password login popup screen will not show when entering a screen with high authority level, instead,
authority not enough hint will show.

Start to run enable process (will not working while function is enabled already).
Can not modify I-Bit number during the process.
• F2 Disable :
Disable function (will not working while function is disabled already).
• Enable process
To prevent I-Bit number set to a uncontrollable number, the following process is required to enable
the function:
• Turn on target I-Bit and hold for 2 seconds, till the next step shows
• Turn off target I-Bit and hold for 2 seconds, till the next step shows
• Auto logout time is working even I-Bit lock is enabled, user should use the I-Bit key to login again after
auto logout.

※Authority management is available in version 10.116.14A, 2.3.1 or newer
Example: If the user set Pr3229=1 (Disable Work Offset), but enable the Authority Item [Position] Set Work
Piece Coordinate; the user still cannot access the work offset screen.
Operation Log
When a system error occurs, a Syntec service personnel or Machine Maker can use it to trace the record,
notice that all inputs are shown.

"AdminLogIn", and "OtherUserLogIn" in the log.
