over them to keep her feet dry.
Suddenly, Emma stepped into a big puddle! Her boots got filled with water, and
her feet were soaking wet. She was upset at first, but then she noticed a small bird
huddling under a tree, trying to stay dry. Emma smiled and decided to help. She took
off her umbrella and carefully held it over the bird until it flew away.

Sophie and Her Garden

Sophie loved gardening. One weekend, she decided to plant a new flower
bed in her backyard. She spent the morning digging holes and carefully placing the
flowers in the soil. As she worked, the sky grew darker, and clouds began to cover the
sun. Sophie didn’t want to stop, so she continued planting, hoping the rain would wait.

Suddenly, the sky opened up, and heavy rain began to fall. Cause: Sophie
kept planting even though the sky was getting dark. Effect: The rain began to fall, and
she got completely soaked.

Sophie quickly ran inside to avoid getting too wet. After the rain stopped,
she looked outside and noticed that the flowers had received a lot of water. Cause: The
rain had fallen after Sophie planted the flowers. Effect: The flowers were well-
watered, and Sophie smiled, happy that she didn’t have to water them herself.
