QURANIC PASSAGES

Allah In Himself

• “Allah forgives not that partners be set with Him...” Quran


• “There is no deity except me, so worship me alone” Quran

LIFE OF HOLY PROPHET pbu LIFE IN MAKKAH

Early years

 “Did he not find you an orphan and give you shelter” Quran
 “Verily I am the most perfect Arab amongst you, my decent is from Quraish and
my tongue is the tongue of Banu Saad” (hadis)
 Prophecy of Bahira “return with this boy and guard him against the hatred of the
jews, for a great career awaits your nephew”
 “I was present in the house of Abdullah bin Judan at so excellent a pact that I
would not exchange my part in it for a herd of red camels. And if now in Islam I
would be summoned onto it I would gladly respond”
 Hazrat Saad reported “I was a partner of Muhammad in Business. I always found
him very honest in his dealings. He never picked quarrels, nor made any false
statements”

First Revelation

 Sura Alaq (96.1–5): “Read! In the name of your Lord, who created, created man
out of a clot of congealed blood: Proclaim! And your Lord is most bountiful, He
who taught by the pen, Taught man what he did not know.”
 “You are the Messenger of Allah and I am Jibril.”
 , Hazrat Khadija pacified and consoled him by saying: “you have never done any
wrong to anyone. You are kind to the others and help the poor. Allah will not let
you down”.
 “This is the same one who keeps the secrets (Angel jibrael) whom Allah had sent
to Moses. I wish I were young and could live upto the time when yourv people
will turn you out ”

Preaching / Early converts

 “O though wrapped up (in the mantle) Arise and deliver your warning! And
magnify your Lord’s name, and your garments keep away from stain”
 “And admonish your nearest kinsmen”
 “Expound openly as you are commanded; and turn away from those who join false
gods with Allah”
 Abu lahab said: “may you perish forever, did you call us for such a thing?
 “may the hand of Abu Lahab perish doomed he is. His wealth and his property
shall not save him, he shall be thrown into a flaming fire of hell”(Al Quran)
Opposition and persecutions

• “You have your religion and I have my religion” (Al Quran)


• “If they place the sun on my right hand and the moon on my left hand and ask me
to stop preaching the word of the God to the people I will not desist from doing
my duty” (Hadis)
Migration to Abyssinia
• Revelation from Quran: “To those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah,
after suffering oppression, We will assuredly give a goodly home in this world;
but truly the reward of the hereafter will be greater”
• Hazrat Jaffar’s speech “O King we were ignorant people and we lived like wild
animals. Strong amongst us oppressed the weak. We worshiped wood and stone
idols made by our own hands. We committed all kinds of disgraceful acts. Then
from amongst us Allah raised a Prophet whose character is exemplary. He stopped
us from idol worship and asked us to worship one God. He asked us to speak the
truth and protect the week the orphan and the widow…”
• “ she said ‘How can I have a son when no man has touched me and neither am I
unchaste’. He said ‘the lord said it is easy for Me and We wish to appoint him as a
sign on to men and mercy for us’ ” (Surah Marium)
• Negus replied “By God this and the Gospel are the two lights of one candle”
Visit to Taif

• Prophet prayed to God: “For the sake of your pleasure, I remain pleased and
resigned to my fate. No change in this world occurs without your will”
• Angel Gibrael: “I am here to do as you say. If you say I can ask the angel of
mountains to crush the people of Taif between two hills”
• Prophet’s reply: “No, I hope Allah will make their next generation worship Him
alone”
• At the day of Uhad Ayesha RA asked the Prophet “ Is Uhad the most painful day
of your life?” he replied “No”

Isra wal mairaj

 "Glory to Him who took his servant for a journey by night from the sacred mosque
to the farthest mosque whose precincts We blessed. In order that We might show
him some of our signs; for He is the one who hears and sees." (17:1)
 Gabriel said, "Praise be to Allah who guided you to Al-Fitra (the right path)”.
 When Jibrael asked for the gate to be opened, it was asked, "Who is it?" Jibrael
answered, "Jibrael". It was asked" Who is accompanying you?"Jibrael replied,
"Muhammad (pbuh)". It was asked, "Has Muhammad (pbuh) been called?" Jibrael
replied in the affirmative. Then the gate keeper said, "He is welcomed. What an
excellent visit his is."
 "He was given five prayers, he was given concluding verses of surah al Baqarah,
and remission of serious sins for those among this Ummah who associate not
anything with Allah" (Sahih Muslim)
 "I have asked my Lord till I am ashamed to face him". (Sahih Bukhari)
Pledges of Aqabah

 "We pledge our allegiance to the messenger of Allah pbuh that we would associate
nothing with Allah that we would neither steal not commit fornication nor slay our
offspring nor utter slander and that we would not disobey him in that which is
right". This was known as the 1st pledge of Aqaba also called "Pledge of women"
 Here, Bara, a chieftain of Yathrib, took the Prophet's hand and swore “By Him
who sent you with the truth, we will protect you as we protect them (our wives and
children). So accept the pledge of our allegiance, O Messenger of Allah, for we are
men of war, possessed of arms that have been handed down from father to son.”
The Holy Prophet replied: “I am yours and you are mine. Whom you war against,
him I war against. Whom you make peace with, him I make peace with.”
Migration to Yasrib

 "Remember how the unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or
slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans;
but the best of planners is Allah." (8:30).
 "And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and-further, We
have covered them up so that they cannot see.” (36-9)
 "If one of them looks down at his feet he will see us " He said, "What do you
think, O Abu Bakr, of two the third of who is Allah?" (Bukhari).
 Quran says, "When the unbelievers drove him out: he had no more than one
companion, they two were in the cave, and he said to his companion, "Have no
fear, for Allah is with us." (9-40).
 He answered, "Its entrance is covered with cobwebs, and there is a pair of wild
pigeons on the threshold. Obviously, no one could have gone in without disturbing
the pigeons and destroying the cobwebs."

HISTORY AND IMPORTANCE OF QURAN

PRESERVATION AND COMPILATION OF QURAN

 “ We have without doubt sent down the message and we will assuredly guard it
(from corruption”) Surah Hijr
 Abu Huraira reported “Jibrael used to repeat the recitation of the Quran with the
holy Prophet pbuh once a year, but he repeated it twice with him in the year he
died…” [Bukhari]
 If the whole mankind and jins gather together to produce like Quran, they could
not produce like thereof, even if they backed up each other with the help and
support (Quran)
 "(written by) the hands of scribes, honorable, pious and just" (80:15-16)
 Hazrat Abu Bakar said: “How shall I do something which the Apostle of Allah did
not do?”
 Hazrat abu bakar said “Umar went on persuading me to accept his suggestion till I
was convinced that he was right so I accepted his suggestion.”
 Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit said: “had I been asked to carry a mountain on my head, it
would have been a much easy task than to shoulder this responsibility.
 Hazrat Huzaifa said : “O Amir of Believers, have something done for this Umah
before they differ on the Quran similar to the differences of the Jews and
Christians”
 Hazrat Usman said: “In case you disagree with Zaid bib Sabit regarding any
dialect, Arabic utterance of the Quran , then it is the dialect of the Quraish as
Quran was revealed in the dialect of Quraish”
 “Verily We have sent down the Reminder and most certainly We are its
protectors.” (15:9)

ARTICLES OF FAITH

FOR ALL ANSWERS ON ARTICLES:

Iman e Mufassil states: "I believe in Allah, in His angels, in His books, in His
messengers, in the Last Day and in the fact That everything, good or bad, is decided by
Allah, the Almighty, and in life after Death”

The Holy Quran says : "O you who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the
scripture which He hath sent to His messenger and the scripture which He sent to those
before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers and the Day
of Judgement hath gone far, far astray."(Surah Nisa)
TAWHEED

 La - illaha- ill - Allah, "There is no god but Allah”


 Surah Ikhlas: “Say: He is Allah, the one and only; Allah, the eternal, absolute; He
does not beget, nor is He begotten; And there is none like Him”
 The Prophet said: “Every child is born in a state of fitrah (a natural belief in Allah)
then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian.” (Sahih Muslim)
 "And your Allah is one Allah, there is no god but He, the Most Gracious Most
Merciful". (AI-Baqarah 2:163)
 "Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgives
anything else to whom He pleases…”
 “And We never sent any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) without having
revealed to him that there is no god but I, therefore worship and serve Me
(Alone)”
 “And the most beautiful names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them...”
(al-'Ar'af, 7:180)
ANGELS

 "They fear their Sustainer above them and do what they are commanded" (16:50).
 "All praise be to Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Appointer
of angels as message-bearers, who have two, three or four wings" (35: l).
 "We would help you with thousands of angels rank on rank”
 "l have been given permission to speak about one of the angels of God who carry
the Throne" (Abu Daud
 The Quran says, "Allah and his angels send blessings upon the Holy Prophet
(PBUH)."
 “Read! In the name of your Lord, who created, created man out of a clot of

the pen, Taught man what he did not know
 “O Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and his messenger knows
best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, he was Gabriel who came to teach you your
religion.”
 "Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and apostles, to Gabriel and
Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith" (2:98).
 "The Trumpet will (just) be sounded, when all that are in the heavens and on earth
will swoon, except such as it will please Allah (to exempt) (39:68).
 Say: the Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls, then
shall you be brought back to your Lord" (32:11).
 "But verily (Over you) are appointed angels to protect you, kind and honorable,
writing down your deeds"
