Updating Broadcom Emulex HBA Firmware
Procedure
To update the HBA firmware, perform one of the following tasks:

• Use the Emulex HBA Manager Core Application Kit (CLI) utility download command. For details, refer to the Emulex HBA Manager
Command Line Interface User Guide.

Supported on Linux, Solaris, Windows, and VMware (using CLI from remote Windows machine) hosts.

• Use the firmware download option in the Emulex HBA Manager Application. For details, refer to the Emulex HBA Manager
Application User Guide.

Supported on Linux, Windows, and VMware (using CLI from remote Windows machine) hosts.

• Use the Elxflash utility. For details, refer to the Emulex Elxflash and LpCfg Utilities User Guide.

Supported on Linux, Windows and VMware hosts.

• Use the Linux sysfs interface. For details, refer to the section on updating firmware in the Emulex Drivers for Linux User Guide.

Supported on Linux hosts.

• Use the Emulex HBA Manager Application for VMware vCenter. For details, refer to the section on updating firmware in the Emulex
HBA Manager for VMware vCenter 6.7 and Later User Guide.

Supported on VMWare hosts.

• Use the ESXCLI Management Tool, which can be installed on the system. For details, refer to the esxcli Management Commands
section in the Emulex Drivers for VMware ESXi User Guide.

Supported on VMWare hosts.

• To update firmware from the host BIOS, use the Firmware Update Utility in the Emulex UEFI HII Utility. For details, refer to Emulex
Boot for the Fibre Channel and NVMe over FC User Guide.
