CANTICLE CHORAL FESTIVAL 2023

A. RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES


CANTICLE CHORALFEST expresses the song and praises to God for the manifold blessings we
receive through Mary’s hands. The Canticle Choral Festival has the following objectives:
1. To enhance the love for Liturgical and Marian Music.
2. To develop an active participation to the liturgical events in the Campus and in the Church.
3. To promote community life, camaraderie and good will in the Vincentian Spirit.
4. To develop simplicity of the heart among the participants.
5. To provide an avenue for the development of talents among the youth, the faculty members, staff
and alumni.

B. MECHANICS
1. No limit but not less than 8 persons.

2. Open to all AdU Students, Faculty Members, Co-Acad Group and Alumni.
Date, Time and 1. Date of the festival is February 16, 2023, 2pm
Venue 2. Venue is Adamson University Theatre
1. There will be two (2) musical pieces:
 Marian Song Piece – “All That I Am (Magnificat)” by David Haas
 Religious Song Piece – “Iisang Tinig, Iisang Panalangin” by Erick Sta. Maria
Musical Pieces
2. Musical Pieces are available upon request at CMO.
3. Both pieces can be rearranged to different voices.
Note: 50% for Marian Song, 50% for Religious Song
Interpretation - 30%
Blending/Harmony - 40%
Criteria for
Choreography - 15%

Overall Impact - 15%

1. Everyone is free to hire outside trainers.
2. You may also choose trainers from inside the University (i.e. members of Campus
Trainers and Ministry Ensemble, Cuore E Anima, Adamson Chorale, ADU Band/Acoustic Band, or
Cash Subsidy any member of the ADU Community)
3. To help cover expenses for practices and Trainer’s fee, cash subsidy will be given to
each group subject for liquidation (Kindly ask the Host College – College of Science)
1. Costumes - Prescribed uniform for students and office/corporate attire for faculty

3. Props are allowed but within the limit of Theater rules.

C. IMPORTANT NOTES
1. The winner last year (BED – Senior High School) has the right to choose their slot in the order
of the performance.
2. Chapel can be used for rehearsals, Monday to Friday from 8am – 5pm except 12nn-1pm
(University Mass). Contact CMO for reservation.
3. AdU Theater will be available from 8am-12nn of February 16 for blocking, placement and
sound check. Coordinate with CMO for scheduling.
