1. Definisi Fractured Story


Fractured story adalah cerita yang diubah dari cerita aslinya dengan cara yang lucu, unik,
atau memiliki sudut pandang berbeda. Biasanya, cerita ini tetap berdasarkan dongeng
klasik, tetapi ditambahkan elemen twist, karakter baru, atau setting yang tidak biasa.

A fractured story is a story that has been changed from the original version in a funny,
unique, or different way. It usually keeps the basic idea of the original fairy tale, but adds a
twist, new characters, or unusual setting.

2. Fungsi Sosial
Fungsi sosial dari fractured story adalah untuk menghibur pembaca sekaligus
mengembangkan kreativitas dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Dengan mengubah elemen
cerita, siswa belajar memahami struktur naratif dan memperkaya kosakata mereka.

The social function of a fractured story is to entertain readers while encouraging creativity
and critical thinking. By changing story elements, students learn to understand narrative
structure and enrich their vocabulary.

3. Struktur Teks Fractured Story


1. Orientation (Pembukaan): Memperkenalkan tokoh, latar, dan waktu.
2. Complication (Permasalahan): Munculnya masalah yang dihadapi tokoh.
3. Resolution (Penyelesaian): Cara tokoh menyelesaikan masalah tersebut.
4. Re-orientation (Opsional): Akhir cerita atau pesan moral.

This structure is similar to traditional narrative text.

4. Language Features of Fractured Story


Berikut adalah unsur kebahasaan yang sering digunakan dalam fractured story:
- Simple Past Tense (untuk menceritakan kejadian lampau): e.g., walked, said, went.
- Action Verbs (kata kerja tindakan): e.g., climbed, ran, shouted.
- Direct and Indirect Speech: e.g., “I want to go,” said the girl. / The girl said that she wanted
to go.
- Time connectives (kata hubung waktu): e.g., then, suddenly, after that, once upon a time.
- Adjectives (kata sifat): beautiful, scary, clever, kind.
- Adverbs (kata keterangan): quickly, angrily, happily.

Penjelasan Tambahan:
🔹 Simple Past Tense:
Digunakan untuk menceritakan kejadian masa lalu. Kata kerja biasanya ditambah -ed untuk
regular verbs, dan bentuk kedua (V2) untuk irregular verbs.
Contoh: walk → walked, go → went

🔹 Action Verbs:
Kata kerja yang menunjukkan tindakan nyata yang dilakukan tokoh dalam cerita.
Contoh: run, jump, fight, shout

🔹 Direct and Indirect Speech:


Digunakan saat tokoh berbicara langsung atau disampaikan kembali oleh narator.
