Bandung as Sea of Fire was a fire that occurred in the city of Bandung on March 24,
1946. Within seven hours, about 200,000 residents of Bandung burned their homes.
British troops as part of the Brigade MacDonald arrived in Bandung on October 12, 1945.
Bandung was deliberately burned by TRI and local people. There were black smoke billowing
high into the air everywhere. The British Army began to attack so fierce. The greatest battle
happened in the Village name Dayeuh Kolot, in South Bandung, where there were a large
ammunition depot belonging to British. In this battle, Barisan Rakyat Indonesia destroyed the
ammunition depot
The strategy to fire Bandung was considered because the power of TRI and people’s
militia was not comparable to the British forces and NICA. This incident inspired to create the

The Legend of the Rabbit on the Moon
Once upon a time, the Old Man of the Moon came down to Earth disguised as a beggar.
He met a monkey, a fox, and a rabbit in the forest. The beggar asked them for food.
The monkey climbed a tree and brought him some fruits. The fox caught a fish and gave it to
the beggar. The rabbit, who could only find grass, felt sad because he had nothing to offer.

The Legend of Komodo Island


Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful princess named Princess Naga in a small
kingdom on an island. Princess Naga was known not only for her beauty but also for her
closeness to nature. She possessed magical powers that allowed her to speak with animals
and understand the language of the wind and waves. One day, Princess Naga married a
prince from a neighboring island. From this marriage, a pair of twins were born. However, at
birth, the princess was surprised to find that one of her children was human while the other

to exile the baby dragon to the forest. Princess Naga, who dearly loved both her children,
promised to maintain contact with the baby dragon, who was later named Ora.
Princess Naga often visited the forest to bring food and keep Ora company. She
believed that even though Ora looked different, he had a kind heart like a human, a protector
of the island. As time passed, Ora grew into a large and powerful dragon. He became the
guardian of nature and protector of the island from external threats, including hunters and
pirates who often came to spoil the island’s beauty. The local people began to respect Ora
and considered him the spiritual guardian of their island. However, there was one condition
that the residents had to follow: they could not injure or kill any animal on the island,
including Ora and his descendants. In return, Ora would ensure that the land was fertile and
the surrounding seas were full of fish.
One day, a hunter named Maju, who was unaware of this agreement, entered the
forest and saw a large dragon. Not realizing that it was Ora, Maju raised his spear to attack.
Before the spear could strike, an old woman appeared from behind the trees and stopped him.
The old woman was Princess Naga, now aged. She explained to Maju the relationship
between humans and dragons on the island. Maju realized his mistake and promised to no
longer disturb the dragons there.
The place where the dragon lived is called Komodo. The legacy of this legend
continues to live on in the hearts of the people of Komodo Island. They believe that the
Komodo dragons, the ancient animals that now inhabit the island, are direct descendants of
Ora, the guardian dragon. The existence of the Komodo dragons is considered a symbol of
harmony between humans and nature.
