TOPIC: MODULE 4: PLANNING FOR CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL


DEVELOPMENT AND LAC PLANNING

Objectives:
1. carry out your plan for your continuing PD
2. discuss the different PD initiatives/ program related to the LDMs that is
available to you, either provided by DepEd or by non-DepEd learning
service providers (LSPs)
3. develop a PD plan including the Learning Action Plan
4. commit to your professional growth and development.

BEFORE THE LEARNING SESSION:


Scheduling of Meetings
 LAC members decided on the schedule, length, and number of
meetings.
 Four (2) hours is the recommended time to finish the sixth LAC
session.
 Agreed that Google Meet will be utilized in the conduct of the
session, and the link will be sent one day before the meeting
proper.

 The facilitator prepared/ managed all the preparation from her
slides presentation and the facilitation of the Group Learning
Session, such as the forms to be used, the equipment, platform,
and the readiness of the participants.
PREPARATORY:
During the preparatory activity, our Group Facilitator, Mrs. Carla E. Collado,
have the roll call through the first three letters of their respective names, which
of which they have acquired through the previous LAC session.
Ground rules were also elaborated and discussed to all participants, such
as the venue and time, confidentiality, participation, and listening.

LEARNING SESSION PROPER: (Sharing of ideas)


Mrs. Collado divided the group into two (2); each member will share their
thoughts and answers in the activity given and later on to be consolidated and
presented in the discussion.
Participants shared their insights, instructional practices or skills, or a self-
assessment through the created group chat.

PRESENTATION OF THE NEW TOPIC:


Our facilitator introduced the topics, objectives, and gave an overview of the
session. Further, she explained the importance of the topic of Continous
Professional Development to be accomplished and how it is beneficial to the
teachers and learners as well.
The facilitator delivered the topic through a PowerPoint presentation with a
sample of the sample template on the required output and structured activities
(lecture and workshop for Activity 1 and 2)

ACTIVITY 2.
Revisit the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) found in the
LDM2 Course Overview. Reflect on your self-assessment from Activity 1. What
particular professional standards in the PPST do you need to focus on to
effectively use the LDMs concerning the content and pedagogy of the learning
area/s you are teaching? Write your answer and other insights in your Study
Notebook.
To guide your answers, you can also refer to DepEd Memo No. 50, s.2020 on
DepEd Professional Development Priorities, and the Continuing Professional
Development Guidelines.

 Each teacher will choose from the domains of Philippine Professional


Standards for Teachers (PPST), DepEd order No 42 s. 2017 that the teacher
needs to focus on using the LDMs effectively.

 Example: Diversity of learners to respond to learner diversity. The three-year


PD priorities on professional development programs will address the need for
the teacher to design and adopt teaching strategies that are responsive to
different learners based on their needs with a webinar or virtual intervention
and approach.

ACTIVITY 3.

few months as you use the LDM adopted by your School? What is your goal in

Lesson 2
ACTIVITY 1.
1. Access the List of NEAP-recognized Programs and the Individual
Development Plan template. Examine the available PD activities/programs
offered by DepEd and nonDepEd providers, whether online or offline.

Professional Development offered by DepEd:

 Design professional development programs to make teachers , school


leaders and household partners implement. Manage remote learning based
on need and context anchored on learning delivery modalities
 Facilitate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support online
 Online consultation/referral system for personnel
 Develop a system of feedbacking and post-activity conferencing

Professional Development offered by Non-DepEd:


 Division Management Team in support to plan for the implementation of the
enrollment guidelines for S 2020-2021
 Issuance of memorandum for the designation of enrolment Focal Person
(EFP_ by School Heads
 Preparation of information materials to be posted on all available social media
platforms.
 Submission of List of EFPs with contact numbers
 Conduct of online orientation on enrolment guidelines for teachers
 Technical assistance to school EFPs and the inquiring public to be provided
by the Division Office.

 Forging partnership with LGUs for the distribution of hard copies of LESF in
preparation for the physical environment platform
 Status Report on Number of LESF retrieved thru Teacher-led enrolment
procedure
 Deployment of the physical platform for enrolment (booth/kiosks set up in
strategic locations)

2. Communicate with your assigned Instructional Coach to provide you a list


of Regional and Division Training Programs in your area.

 Training, seminars, workshops, conferences, scholarships, and job-embedded


learning.

 1) The long-term training refers to Degree or Non-Degree Certificate


Programs, which can be completed within six (6) months to (3) years.
 (2) The short-term training focuses on the development and enhancement of
competencies as part of the implementation of SPPDs and the MPPDs based
on the identified priority needs of the target person. An example of this is the
training on multi-grade or multilingual-education. Such activities are provided
to increase access to training to address the immediate needs of DepEd
personnel who are not participating in long-term training programs.

ACTIVITY 2.
Refer to your PD objectives and decide on what topics you would like to talk
about in your School LAC. Use the PD Discussion Template in your
discussion.
1. In your LAC Session, share your answers to Lesson 1, Activity 3, and
Lesson 2, Activities 1 and 2. Take note of all insights and advice from your
colleagues. Make adjustments in your plan accordingly. 2. Submit your
accomplished IDP and LAC Plan to your LAC Leader and your School
Head/Department Head. Make sure that you keep a copy of your Plans.

WRAP-UP OF INPUTS AND INSIGHTS AND APPLICATIONS


Our Lac Leader reminded the importance of the Individual Development Plan,
which should be aligned with the DepEd Memo 50,s, 2020.
Mrs. Bugayong each the group to start the making of outputs and study
notebooks right after each session so that the lesson might not be forgotten
and still fresh in the memory.
Furthermore, our LAC leader emphasizes the content of the minutes of the
meeting and the study notebook.

NEXT STEPS AND AGREEMENTS


Our facilitator reminded the group of the date, time, platform, topic assigned
lead facilitator, and documenter, materials that participants need to have to
use for the next LAC session.

CLOSING
Our facilitator formally closed the session with a sweet goodbye and picture
taking.
