1. Implementation of NEP: Restructure of course curriculum of
B.Tech, MTech and PhD as per NEP 2020/NHEQF(National Higher
Education Qualification Framework). To emphasis outcome based
student-centric learning curriculum
2. Development of courses for skill development programs: As a part
of supplementary course of multiple exit and extension activities
3. Manpower development/skill development of staff and students to
get ready for contemporary and futuristic technology: Like Electric
vehicle, Drone technology, Robotics, Solar power, Cyber Security,
AI-ML, IOT etc

4. Infrastructure/ facility development for Electric vehicle, Drone
and Robotics technology and online curriculum development under
Swayam/MOOC scheme
5. Development of industry and Dept. linkage/ relationship,
exploring the possibility of MOUs for students’ internship,
collaborative research, working on live projects, faculty exchange
programs etc. Moreover, nomination of people in different statutory
bodies for getting better inputs in curriculum development

• To develop outcome based student-centric learning curriculum
• Incorporating some special subjects like Robotics, AI-ML,
Photonic ICs , IOT in B.Tech and M.Tech courses./
Developing/B.Tech, M.Tech programmes/curriculums in more
specialized area like Electric Vehicle, Drone Technology,
Robotics, AI-ML, Photonic ICs , IOT.
• Developing online courses and other innovative learning materials
for increasing the enrollment of students in B.Tech and M.Tech
programmes

Research Activities
(1). Setting up of Centre of Excellence in areas of :
(i) VLSI Design
(ii) Communication and Photonics
(iii) Signal processing and Control
(2) Setting up of start-ups based on the research outcomes of above
centers: Testing and packaging unit to commercialize the products
(3) Extension activities: Regular training programs for students to
nearby colleges, institutes and field demonstrations etc
(4) Collaborative research: Setting up bridge between Department
and premier institutes of the NE-region and industry

Extension Activities
(1): To conduct Refresher and Orientation courses on regular basis for
teachers and scholars
(2): To organize workshop/FDP/Hand-on-Training programme for skill
development of teachers and scholars
(3): To organize National/International Conference/seminar on contemporary
issues of research
(4): To provide consultancy services in the respective area of expertise of the
department
(5): To host summer/winter internship programmes for researchers at UG/PG
levels
(6): Effort shall be put to understand the nearby societal problems and
providing technological solutions

– 22nd February, 2019.
