Slide gate

A slide gate is a simple flat gate that slides along guides and can be made from timber, stainless steel, or carbon steel. It is used in various applications such as regulating flow in power plants, filling penstock conduits, and managing reservoir releases. While it offers uniform load transmission and low installation costs, it also has high friction and requires effort to operate in both directions.
