The guitar
many important parts. It comes in various types (acoustic, electric, classical), but all
share key components.
🔹 2. Neck
The long part of the guitar you hold with your fretting hand.
Fretboard (Fingerboard) – wood surface with embedded frets
Frets – metal strips dividing the neck into musical notes
Position Markers – dots or inlays that help players find notes
Truss Rod – a metal rod inside the neck to adjust curvature
🔹 3. Body
The main resonating area of the guitar; shape and size vary.
On Acoustic Guitars:
Sound Hole – amplifies the sound (round opening in the top)
Top (Soundboard) – the front face of the body (vibrates with strings)
Back and Sides – form the rest of the body
Bridge – holds the strings in place at the body end
Saddle – supports the strings on the bridge (affects action and intonation)
Bridge Pins – hold acoustic strings in place (on many acoustics)
On Electric Guitars:
Pickups – magnets that convert string vibrations into electrical signals
Pickup Selector – switch between pickups for different tones
Volume/Tone Knobs – control output level and sound characteristics
Output Jack – where the cable plugs in

Usually 6 strings (standard guitar), numbered from high E (1st) to low E
(6th)
Made from steel (electric, acoustic) or nylon (classical)
