and has their Durham hat for playtime and PE lessons.

Follow our new art Instagram account

We are excited to announce the launch of our school’s new art instagram account a dedicated
space to showcase the incredible talent of our students!
This account will feature a wide range of artwork, from drawings and paintings to digital
designs and sculptures, celebrating the creativity and hard work of our art students. Follow us
on Instagram at @art_at_dsd to stay updated on the latest student creations and art-related
events. We can’t wait to share the amazing work of our artistic community with you.

Celebrating achievements
We would love to celebrate the amazing achievements of our students in the community. If
your child has participated in any sporting events, musical performances, or other
extracurricular activities outside of school, please send through any photos or details so we
can highlight their accomplishments. Let’s come together and celebrate the wonderful talent
and hard work of our students in Durham.

Key stage 3 and 4 mobile phones policy update

At Durham School Dubai, pupil phones are strictly prohibited during the school day. The only
exceptions are for students who need to order a taxi at the end of the day. In such cases,
phones must be dropped off at reception upon arrival and placed in a locked box. If a pupil is
found using their phone for any other purpose or in possession of one during school hours, a
sanction will be imposed. We are proud to be a home device free school, and many of our
families choose Durham School Dubai because of this core belief. This policy also applies to
smartwatches, which should be left at home. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Mr Brice Dempster

invited to audition by performing a solo piece. If you would like to take part, please inform
Ms. Wilson whether you prefer to audition during break, lunch time, or in your music class.
There are prizes to be awarded, and the winner will represent our school in a Winners'
Competition with other schools. Please note: The competition is open to soloists only, aged 9
to 16. We look forward to hearing your performances.

Parent lanyards
Parents are respectfully reminded to always wear their yellow lanyards.
Parents who do not wear their lanyards will not be permitted entry into the building during
pick-up or drop-off times. If you do not have a lanyard with you, please stop by the reception
area to register your details. There is a QR code available for you to scan and complete the
registration.

Drop-off and pick-up reminder

Please be considerate of others when dropping off and picking up in the school car park. If
you need to leave your vehicle, kindly park in a designated bay as directed by the marshals.
The curved drop-off point is for quick stops only, where children can safely get out of the car
by themselves. When adults exit their vehicles in this area, it can unfortunately cause delays
for other drivers. We also ask that you take extra care when parking and reversing, and follow
any instructions given by the marshals, who are there to help keep everyone safe.
