“AICTE ACTIVITY POINT PROGRAM”
Following are the various activities conducted by the institution to enable AICTE activity point.
5. Tree Plantation
Date – 08/07/2024-12/07/2024
Duration – 5 days
Place – Belagavi
Brief about the activity: Under AICTE activity point program on “Awareness Program
on Energy Conservation” visit and to create the awareness of Energy Conservation.
As part of the AICTE Activity Point Program, the students of the Mechanical
Engineering Department at Jain College of Engineering and Research undertook an
Awareness Program on Energy Conservation. The initiative aimed to educate the
community and promote conscious energy usage as a vital step toward a sustainable and
secure future.
Energy conservation is far more than simply turning off lights—it is a key
strategy in reducing our reliance on non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels. By
conserving energy, we help to lower greenhouse gas emissions, combat climate change,
and safeguard the environment. It also plays a crucial role in ensuring long-term energy
security for future generations. Beyond its environmental impact, energy conservation
also offers significant economic advantages. Reduced energy consumption leads to lower
energy bills for individuals, industries, and communities alike. With the right mix of
behavioral change, technological innovation, and investment in clean energy sources,
energy conservation presents a win-win scenario—benefiting both the environment and
the economy.
To contribute to this important cause, the students visited various schools and
institutions across Belagavi to spread awareness about the importance of energy
conservation. Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and discussions, students
engaged with the local community, emphasizing practical steps that can be adopted in
daily life to reduce energy waste.
Duration – 5 days
Place – Belagavi
Brief about the activity: As part of the AICTE Activity Point Program under the theme
“Tourism Promotion through Innovative Approaches”, students participated in visits to
various tourist destinations with the aim of promoting them.
Every tourist site holds historical or cultural significance, which can be a powerful
tool in attracting visitors. By highlighting these historical aspects, tourism promotion
becomes more meaningful and engaging.
During this activity, students visited several historical and culturally significant
locations in and around Belagavi. They gathered detailed information about the historical
background of each place. This information was then used to create promotional content.
Recognizing the impact of digital outreach, students utilized social media platforms
to share photographs and facts about these destinations. By leveraging platforms such as
Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, they aimed to reach a wider audience and generate
interest in the rich heritage and scenic beauty of Belagavi’s tourist spots.
Tree Plantation
Date – 17/03/2025-21/03/2025
Duration – 5 days
Place – Belagavi
Brief about the activity: Under AICTE activity point program on “Environmental
protection” plantation activity was carried out.
A variety of native and ornamental trees were planted during the drive, with
arrangements made for their regular care and maintenance. Tree plantation not only
improves air quality and reduces pollution but also plays a vital role in regulating the
ecological balance. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, making them
essential for all living organisms. Moreover, they contribute to biodiversity, improve soil
quality, and support the overall environmental cycle.
