the proximity and curvature size

In Ansys 19.1 and newer, the options for Size Function and related settings have been removed, with new adaptive sizing options introduced. Users can now adjust settings under Sizing and Defaults, with specific resolutions and element sizes defined differently compared to earlier versions. A comparison of mesh details between versions 17.1 and 19.2 illustrates these changes in the user interface and functionality.

I cannot find the proximity and curvature size

function settings under the Details of "Mesh", why?
Description
In Ansys 19.1 or newer, the options for Size Function, Relevance, Relevance Center, Max Face Size, and
Max Tet Size have been removed.

When using Ansys 19.1 or newer, the following applies:

• Under Sizing: When we Use Adaptive Sizing -> Yes,
• Resolution -> 0 (coarse) to 7 (fine); Default value is 4 for Electromagnetics or Explicit, and 2 for
other solvers.
• Under Defaults:
• Element Size = Max Face Size (in Ansys 19.0 and earlier versions)

• Under Sizing: when we Use Adaptive Sizing -> No, the program activates two other
options: Capture Curvature (Yes/No) and Capture Proximity (Yes/No). If both are No, then its
equivalent to "Uniform".
• Resolution -> 0 (coarse) to 7 (fine); Default value is 4 for Electromagnetics or Explicit, and 2 for
other solvers.
• Under Defaults:
• Element Size = Max Face Size (in Ansys 19.0 and earlier versions)
• Max Size = Max Tet Size (in Ansys 19.0 and earlier versions)

Solution
Below (Figures 1 & 2) is a side-by-side comparison of some of the Details of mesh with 17.1 on the left and
19.2 on the right.
• Size Function Adaptive in 17.1 is now using Adaptive Sizing Yes in 19.2
• Relevance Center Fine is now Resolution Default
• Element Size Default that was under Sizing in 17.1 is now in the Defaults branch in 19.2

When changing the Size Function by pull down on Adaptive, one would get the same options as using
Adaptive Sizing to No.
