INTRODUCTION
Islamic Provisions in the 1973 Constitution," refers to
the articles and clauses within Pakistan's Constitution
that establish Islam as the state religion and
incorporate Islamic principles into the country's legal
framework. These provisions aim to ensure that the
laws and governance of Pakistan are in accordance
with Islamic teachings and values
FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS IN THE
1973 CONSTITUTION
Article 9 – Security of Person:
No one shall be deprived of life or liberty except
in accordance with law.

Article 10 – Safeguards as to Arrest and


Detention:
Protection against arbitrary arrest and detention.

Federal System
Pakistan is a federation with a clear division of
powers between the federal government and
provinces.

Parliamentary Form of Government


The Prime Minister is the head of government,
elected by the National Assembly, with a
ceremonial President.

CONSTITUTION
Islam as State Religion (Article 2):
Islam is declared the official religion of Pakistan.

Sovereignty Belongs to Allah (Preamble & Article 2A):


The sovereignty over the universe belongs to Almighty
Allah; authority is to be exercised by the people as a
sacred trust.

STATE RELIGION

The Council of Islamic Ideology, composed
of Islamic scholars and judges, is tasked
with advising the state on matters related
to Islamic values and principles
FEDERAL SHARIAT COURT
This court, composed of Islamic
judges, examines laws to ensure
their conformity with Islamic
principles
CONCLUSION
The 1973 Constitution of Pakistan includes several Islamic
provisions that are based on the principles of the Quran
and Sunnah. These provisions include establishing Pakistan
as an Islamic republic, Islam as the state religion, and
requiring the President and Prime Minister to be Muslims.
Additionally, the constitution mandates that all laws be
compliant with Islam.
