Method Statement for Wooden Doors

Installation
1.0 OBJECTIVE
To define the procedure for the fabrication, supply, and installation of wooden doors,
including fire-rated doors, within the project scope.

2.0 SCOPE
This method statement covers the entire process of fabricating and installing wooden doors,
including non-fire rated and fire-rated doors, within the defined project area.

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS


4.1.1 The materials to be used for wooden door fabrication and installation shall include:
- Wooden doors (solid core or veneered)
- Hardwood and softwood framing materials
- Fasteners and sealing materials
- Fire-rated doors (if applicable)
All materials must be approved by the project engineer before use on-site.

4.2 FABRICATION
4.2.1 Timber used for doors shall be free from unsound knots, dead knots, or any defects.
4.2.2 All timber shall be treated for protection against wood-destroying organisms.
4.2.3 The doors shall be fabricated with precision, ensuring that all dimensions match the

4.3 INSTALLATION
4.3.1 Ensure the door frame is correctly fixed in place before installing the door.
4.3.2 Verify that the door opening aligns with the approved dimensions for proper fitment
of the door.
4.3.3 Install the door carefully, ensuring proper alignment with the frame and sufficient
clearance for smooth operation.
4.3.4 Fix the door securely, ensuring all hardware components (e.g., hinges, locks) are
properly installed and functional.
4.3.5 Ensure the door operates smoothly, including proper locking and unlocking
mechanisms.

4.4 FINISHING AND PROTECTION


4.4.1 Apply a finish to the wooden doors as specified, including painting, staining, or
varnishing.
4.4.2 Ensure that the finish is applied evenly and according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
4.4.3 Protect the completed door installation from damage during subsequent construction
