Pre-interview Planning :

➢ Know about the company and understand the Job description


➢ Understand about the skills required – technical, behavioural & experience.
➢ Prepare yourself with answers accordingly.

➢ Check the interview schedule like venue and time details and plan to reach the venue 10-15 minutes before
interview schedule while considering traffic jam, etc.)
➢ MUST reach interview venue 10-15 minutes before time.
• Reaching late creates a very negative impression on the client.
• In case you are getting late, please inform the client or consultant minimum 30 minutes before the schedule.
➢ Take your credentials like qualifications, experience certificates, achievement certificates, salary details & any other
relevant documents along with you.

Interview Etiquettes :

➢ Ensure to switch off your mobile phone before entering the interview room.
➢ Enter Interview room after knocking
➢ Wish Greetings to all Interview Panel , with a smile
➢ Sit only after you are requested by the interviewer OR after the interview has sat down.
DO NOT sit relaxing, with crossed leg or arms.

Dress Code: Formal

➢ Manager and above: Should wear coat and tie (especially if you are in a corporate or sales function)
➢ For others, full sleeves shirt, neatly tucked and well polished shoes are essential
➢ Ladies should also wear formal corporate dress

Body Language:

➢ Smile. You should have a ‘smiling’ and happy face while answering and during the whole interview session.
➢ Avoid being ‘serious’ or ‘grumping ‘.
➢ Eye Contact: This is a ‘must’; always look at interviewers’ eyes’ while answering. Do not look at the ceiling or the wall
while talking.
Communication

Listen carefully & attentively

➢ Listen to the question clearly. Answer only after the Question is completed and interviewer has stopped speaking &
avoid any kind of interruptions.
➢ Answer only after you have understood the question clearly. If not, please ask for clarification.

Speak Clearly, Concisely and Completely –

➢ Clearly: Speak fluently & at a moderate ‘speed’ on which the interviewer can clearly understand.
➢ Concisely: Speak concisely as much as required and use appropriate the words logically.
➢ Completely: During career /experience introduction, highlight the following relevant aspects also:
• Responsibilities (especially those which are relevant for the job ‘position’)
• Functional Achievements (like Targets & deadlines etc)
• Management Achievements (like Planning, budgeting, control, team building & management, etc.)
➢ Close the introduction by explaining “ WHY you are interested in working for the ‘subject’ company and position.”

Answer can include:


• Part of a new company, where I will learn & grow along with Growth in job experience /responsibility
• Exposure to new technology & process /standards / global practices etc.
➢ If you do not know answer of any question, please tell so. It is advisable to inform them , rather than giving wrong
answers or pretend to know the answer. This may reduce the trust level

Closing

➢ You should ask relevant questions from the client to understand the business plan & about the position, when given
a chance.

➢ In the end of interview, you can do your last pitch of summarizing your experience and expressing your interest in
the position.
➢ Express thanks for the interviewer's time and consideration
