Pothireddypadu Reservoir:
Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project is the longest water canal project in the region of
Rayalaseema
The project was conceived to provide a reliable irrigation and drinking water supply for the
region through drawing flood waters from the Srisailam reservoir.
The canal is located in the Kurnool, Ananthapur, Kadapa, and Chittoor districts.
The canal starts from the back waters of the Srisailam reservoir at Malyala and is routed
along the hill ridges up to the highlands in Chittoor district
National Waterway 4:
Present, Government is supplying fortified rice to 7 districts and clarified that this rice has
Vitamin-B12, iron, and folic acids.
According to the Food Ministry, fortification of rice is a cost-effective and complementary
strategy to increase vitamin and mineral content in diets.
According to FSSAI norms, 1 kg fortified rice will contain iron (28 mg-42.5 mg), folic acid
(75-125 microgram) and Vitamin B-12 (0.75-1.25 microgram).
In addition, rice may also be fortified with micronutrients, singly or in combination, with
zinc, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3 and Vitamin B6.
Vijayawada city got the first prize among the State capitals and the fifth place in the cities

Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the ‘Parley
for the Oceans’, a U.S.-based company that works for plastic-waste management.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister says that in the coming six years Rs. 16,000 crores will be
invested in the state.
The program also brings employment for more than 20,000 locals with a minimum of atleast
Rs. 16,000 per month.
The recycling and upcycling of plastic waste will be done in the “Parley Super Hubs” set up
by the Parley for the Oceans.
The MoU between Andhra Pradesh and Parley for the Oceans aims to improve the
sanitation and waste management system and deploy AIR (Avoid Intercept & Redesign)
plastic stations in 500 places.
The state government has signed an MoU with Aurobindo Reality Infrastructure Private
Limited for generating 6,000 MW of green energy. Special Chief Secretary Karikal Valaven
signed on behalf of the state while Aurobindo Director Sharatchandra Reddy signed on
behalf of the Company.
The second MoU was signed between the state and Greenko for generating 8,000 MW of
green power. Karikal Valaven and Anil Chalamsetti of Greenko inked the pact.

The largest-and most famous temple of Kadapa district is the Kodandarama Swamy Temple
in Vontimitta (or Ontimitta).

Vedavathi River:
It rises from the Bababudanagiri Mountains of Western Ghats and flows through the states
of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The Vedavathi is also called the Hagari in Bellary District of Karnataka and parts of Andhra
Pradesh.
Two rivers, the Veda and Avathi, arise in the eastern part of the Sahyadri Hill range in
Bababudangiri mountain ranges, flow east, and join near Pura to form the Vedavathi River.
Champavathi River:
River Champavathi is a small river which originates in the Eastern Ghats at an altitude of
1,200 metres above mean sea level near Andra village and flows eastwards and joins the
Bay of Bengal near the village Konada.
The river passes through Gajapathinagaram, Nellimarla, Saripalli, Denkada, Palem and
Natavalasa of Vizianagaram district.
