A very important object
What thing do you own that's only essential to you, and no one else?
Ann
An old travel card from 10 years ago! I got it in my first week of university and used it for one year, going on
the public transport in the new city I was living in. I still keep it, even though it's completely useless. It's got
my photo on it. The girl in the photo is a world away from who I am now. But the card is important to me, and
reminds me of a time when it felt like everything was new and there was something to discover on every
corner.
Mariam
My boots. I had them when I was backpacking around South America. They were on my feet the whole time
and have taken me through even more parts of the world since then. They look very old and worn out now, but
I still like using them when I go somewhere interesting.
Oscar
A screwdriver! My grandad used to have lots and wanted me to have one too, so he gave it to me when I was
a kid. I loved using it and kept on using it when I trained to be a mechanic. It's still something that I keep in my
box of tools and use all the time.
