Mid term exam 20 / 21 repair


1)- Give reasons;
- Transfer molding processes not recommend for thermoplastics. (2)

- The cycle time for the injection molding of thermosetting polymers significantly longer than
that for the thermplastic. (2)
- In compression molding canot be used reinforcement materials. (2)
- Plasticizers and stabilizers added to resins. (2)

2) – What are some attractive engineering properties of polymeric materials. (3)

3)- With the aid of sketches, what processes and materials (thermoset or thermoplastic ) do you
recommended for producing the following products;

4) – How do thermosetting polymers respond to subsequent heating. (2)

5)- From the production engineer`s point of view, describe the major differences between the
extrusion of metal and extrusion of plastics?

d)- With the aid of sketches, what processes do you recommended for producing this product?
