GLOBAL REACH TAILORED TALENT

Advanced Production Planning- EWM Synchronization 🏭--📦--🏢

Introduction:
EWM and PP process integration enables the consumption of raw materials for production and
the receipt of finished goods back into the warehouse.

Workflow:
 The process is initiated with the creation of a Production Order or Process Order in the
S/4HANA system. Subsequently, in the EWM system, components are picked against the
production order and staged in the Production Supply Area (PSA).
 These components are then consumed at the work center during the manufacturing process to
produce the finished goods.
 Key master data elements such as Work Center, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Routing play a
critical role in this process.
 The process can be further designed to route the finished products back to the warehouse
using an Inbound Delivery from production.
 Additionally, a Quality Inspection step can be incorporated through POSC before the finished
goods are moved to their final Putaway bins, ensuring product quality and compliance.

Types of Production Integration:

Integration Type Trigger Document: Production Facility

Location:
Delivery Based Production Based on Delivery Document Outside the warehouse
Integration
Advance Production Based on Production Material Within the warehouse
Integration Request
MES (Manufacturing Based on PMR and Staging Depends on MES setup
Execution System) Driven Request
Staging
JIT (Just In Time) Supply to Based on JIT Calls from Usually near or within
Production Production warehouse
MES Driven Repetitive Based on Receiving Staging Usually within warehouse or
Manufacturing Request from MES. adjacent facility

Staging Methods:

 Single Order Staging --- It allows to Stage the Components for a Specific Order.

 Cross Order Staging --- It allows to Stage multiple Components of Production Orders at
Same time

 Crate Parts -- Components are staged in bulk and Replenished regularly based on stock
levels. Kanban is Usually used for Crate Parts.

Differences between Production Order and Process Order:

Production Order Process Order
