What is An Affirmation?

Affirmations are short, positive statements that, when

repeated, can help us wash away negative thoughts
and feelings.

When we repeat them daily and start to believe them,

they encourage and motivate us to think and feel more
positively about ourselves.
Being motivated, setting goals for yourself and achieving these goals is
impossible without believing that you can do it. Belief in oneself will
give you the confidence to do anything you put your mind to.

I can do anything.
Turn to a partner and
discuss how this affirmation
is true in your own life.
Everyone makes mistakes. It’s not the mistake that we should focus on
but how we recover from it. Making mistakes teaches us what not to do
next time. Looking at them as a positive is the key!

Beauty is more than what can be seen with the eyes. There is beauty in
strength, goodness and kindness.

Kindness is more than just smiling and being nice. It is having the
ability to listen, feel and understand others’ needs while trying to meet
those needs.

I am a kind person.

did it make you feel?
Being proud means you are pleased with something you possess or have
achieved. Pride is a positive emotion that helps build confidence.

I am proud of myself.
Turn to a partner and
share something you are
proud of.
Kindness begins within. It is just as important to be kind to yourself as
it is to be kind to others. Being kind to yourself helps build inner peace
and confidence in yourself.

stands for different criteria.
