Advisory and Instructions for the Candidates of the NIFTEE-2025 - Reg.

Dear Candidate,
The National Testing Agency will conduct the Entrance Examinations for UG and PG
Programmes (Regular and NLEA) for NIFT Admissions – 2025 in around 91 centres located in
81 Cities in Hindi and English mediums across India in Computer Based Test (CBT) / Paper Based
Test (PBT) mode on 9 February 2025 (Sunday) for Academic Session 2025-26 for the following
Programmes:

• Bachelor of Design (B.Des.),

• Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.),
• Master of Design (M.Des.),
• Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.),
• Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)
• NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA)- B.Des. and B.F.Tech.

We hope that you have downloaded the Admit Card and are now fully prepared to appear for the
NIFTEE-2025 Examination on the date, shift, Course, and venue of the Test Centre as
indicated on the Admit Card downloaded from the NTA website i.e.
https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT.
No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination
practices as the examination centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with
Jammers.

Kindly keep in mind the following:

1. AADHAAR verification:

➢ Candidates are advised to bring their AADHAAR Card as verification of the

candidates will be carried out through the AADHAAR authentication process.

➢ Initially, Biometrics will be done by taking the thumb impression of the candidate
multiple times. For any candidate, whose thumb impressions will not match, then
Biometrics will be carried out through the iris.

➢ If any candidate does not carry an AADHAAR card, his/her verification will be carried
out by other means. This will be recorded in the Exception Form.

2. Please download your Admit Card from the NTA website https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT only.

3. Please check the Reporting Time at Centre, Gate Closing time of Centre, Date of Examination,
Shift and Timings of Test, Venue of Test following as indicated on the Admit Card.

4. You should visit the Examination Centre, in advance and familiarize yourself with the location
and means of reaching the venue of the Test on time.

5. On the day of the Examination, please reach the venue of the Test at the Reporting Time
mentioned in the Admit Card. If you report beyond the Gate Closing time of the Centre, you
will not be allowed to enter the Test venue. Instructions have been issued for strict compliance.
Several pre-examination formalities need to be completed and therefore please arrive on time.

6. You should carry with you only the following items:

➢ Personal transparent water bottle,
➢ Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA
website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
➢ Additional passport-size photograph for pasting on the Attendance Sheet
➢ Original valid ID proof
➢ A simple transparent Ball Point Pen/ Pencil / Erasers / Ruler (In a transparent
pouch)/ A-4 Transparent Acrylic Board (for B.Des./M.Des. candidates).
7. Before reaching the Centre, candidates must enter the required details, paste the Photograph,
and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the Admit Card. They should ensure
that their Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.

8. Candidates appearing for both Bachelor of Design (B. Des) and Master of
Design (M. Des.) programmes are required to bring two sets of Admit
Cards to their respective examination centers.
9. MARKING SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
For Multiple Choice Questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose
one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer.
However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the
key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner:
i. Each question carries 01 (One) mark.
ii. For each correct response, the candidate will get 01 (One) mark.
iii. For each incorrect response, -0.25 mark will be deducted from the total score.
iv. Unanswered/un-attempted will be given no marks.
v. To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as the correct option.
vi. However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple
correct options or changes in the key, only those candidates who have attempted it
correctly as per the revised Answer key will be awarded marks.
vii. In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to
all the candidates irrespective of whether they fact who has attempted it or not.

10. Candidate must carry “Any one of the original and valid Photo Identification Proof issued
by the Government” – PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With
photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No. With Photo. All other

IDs/Photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in the mobile phone will NOT
be considered valid ID Proof.

➢ PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under
the PwD category. Candidates with Physical Disability are requested to report early
for facilitation during entry.
➢ A PwD candidate (having a physical limitation to write) who will be availing the facility
of Scribe will be allowed Compensatory/ Extra time of 20 minutes per hour of the
examination, whether such candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not.
➢ The facility of the Scribe, in case he/she has a physical limitation and a scribe is
essential to write the examination on his/her behalf, being so certified in the prescribed
format by a CMO/Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health
Care Institution.

➢ Facilities to provide the Scribe for PwD candidates cannot be

provided in the Creative Ability Test (CAT).
➢ The facility of Scribe will be provided to the PwD candidates only if he has opted for
the same in the online Application Form of NIFTEE-2025.

➢ The candidate will have the discretion of opting for his own Scribe or to avail the
facility of Scribe provided by the NTA. Appropriate choice in this regard has been
given by the candidate in the online Application Form.

11. Candidates are NOT allowed to carry any other personal belongings including electronic
devices, or mobile phones to the Examination Centre. Examination Officials will not be
responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings and there will be no facility.
12. Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room.
Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheet(s) and must
hand over the sheet/s to the invigilator without fail, before leaving the Examination
Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in a non-evaluation of your answers.

13. No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination practices.
All the Examination Centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers.
Any unfair practice including passing of chits will be dealt with punitive stringent action
including debarment in future exams of NTA.
14. The candidate should ensure that the Question Paper available on the computer screen is as
per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the Admit Card. In case, the subject/medium of
the Question Paper is other than his/her opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to
the notice of the Invigilator concerned.
15. The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other
instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same.

16. If at any stage, it is found that the candidate has submitted multiple applications, his/her
candidature will be canceled and legal action will be taken including debarring in all future
examinations conducted by NTA.

17. Candidates are advised to check updates on NTA's website, i.e. www.nta.ac.in,
https://exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT regularly. They should also check their mailbox on the
registered E-mail address and SMS in their registered Mobile No. For the latest updates and
information regarding the exam.

General Instructions:
1. The total duration of the examination is as per the following:

2. The clock will be set on the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of the
screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination.
When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not be required
to end or submit your examination.
3. The Questions Palette displayed on the right side of the screen will show the status of
each question using one of the following symbols:

You have not visited the question yet.

You have not answered the question.
You have answered the question.
You have NOT answered the question but have marked the question for review.
The question(s) "Answered and Marked for Review" will be considered for
evaluation.

4. You can click on the ">" arrow which appears to the left of the question palette to collapse
the question palette thereby maximizing the question window. To view the question palette
again, you can click on "<" which appears on the right side of the question window.

5. You can click on your "Profile" image on the top right corner of your screen to change the
language during the exam for the entire question paper. On clicking on the Profile image you
will get a drop-down to change the question content to the desired language.

6. You can click on to navigate to the bottom and/or to navigate to the top of the
question area, without scrolling.
Navigating to a Question:
7. To answer a question, do the following:
A. Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of your screen
to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does NOT
save your answer to the current question.
B. Click on Save & Next to save your answer for the current question and then
go to the next question.
C. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current
question, mark it for Review, and then go to the next question.

Answering a Question:
8. Procedure for answering a Multiple-Choice type question:
A. To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options.
B. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option
again or click on the Clear Response button.
C. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option
D. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button.
E. To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button.

9. To change your answer to a question that has already been answered, first select
that question foranswering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of
question.

Navigating through sections:

10. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen.
Questions in a Section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The Section
you are currently viewing is highlighted.
11. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will
automatically be taken to the first question of the next section.
12. You can shuffle between sections and questions anything during the

examination as per yourconvenience only during the time stipulated.

13. Candidates can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that
appears in everysection above the question palette.

The keyboard attached to the computer, if any, will be disabled during the entire
duration of the examination. Depending on the type of question, the answers to
questions can either be entered by clicking on the virtual on-screen keyboard
(numeric or otherwise) using the computer mouse or by clicking the chosen option(s)
using the computer mouse. Candidates will have the option to change/modify
answers already entered at any time during the entire duration of the examination.
In case the computer/mouse allotted to any candidate malfunctions anytime during
the test, he/she will be immediately allotted another computer system and the time
lost due to this will be adjusted in the server so as to give the candidate the full
allotted time.
The on-screen computer clock counter of every candidate will be set on the server.
The countdown timer in the top right side of a computer screen will display the time
remaining (in minutes) available for the candidate to complete the examination.
When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. Candidates will not
be required to end or submit the examination.

The Question Palette displayed on the screen will show the status of each question using one of
the following symbols:

The question(s) “Answered and Marked for Review” status for a question indicates that the
candidate would like to have a relook at that question again. A candidate has the option of
answering a question and simultaneously “Marked for Review”, these answers will be
considered for evaluation. However, if a candidate has simply put “Marked for Review” for a
question without answering it, the corresponding question marked for review without an

answer will not be considered for evaluation. It may be noted that a candidate can return to
any “Marked for Review” question at any time during the examination by clicking on the
corresponding question number icon displayed on the Question Palette of the corresponding
section.
(a) Candidate can click on the “>” arrow which appears to the left of the question
palette to collapse the question palette thereby maximizing the question
viewing window. To view the question palette again, the candidate can click
on “<” which appears on the right side of the question window.
(b) Candidates can click to navigate to the bottom and to navigate to the top of the
question area, without scrolling. Using the computer mouse the candidate can
scroll up and down the question viewing area for viewing the entire question.
(c) The full paper can be viewed by clicking the “Question Paper” icon on the top
right corner of the screen.
(d) Blank Sheets for doing Rough Work/calculations shall be provided to the
candidates. The blank sheets would have a Header page for the candidates to
write down his/her Name and Roll Number. All calculations/writing work is
to be done only in the Blank Sheets provided at the centre in the Examination
Room/Hall and on completion of the test candidates must hand over the rough
sheets to the invigilator on duty in the Room/Hall.

(e) Navigating to a Question To navigate between questions within a Paper, the

candidate needs to do the following:
(a) Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of the
screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this
option does NOT save the answer to the currently displayed question.
(b) Click on “Save & Next” to save the answer to any question. Clicking on
“Save & Next” will save the answer for the current question and the next

question will be displayed on the candidate’s computer screen. Click on

“Mark for Review & Next” to mark a question for review (without
answering it) and proceed to the next question.

On-Screen Virtual Keyboard

(a) The answer can be changed, if required, anytime during the test. To
save the answer, the candidateMUST click on the “Save & Next”

1. The question paper is of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions only. Candidates are
required to select the “correct”/” most appropriate” option from the four options. The
Questions have been set in English &
Hindi except for the section on Test of Language, which shall have questions in the language
chosen by thecandidate (English or Hindi).
2. Additional time of 20 minutes per hour of exam will be allowed to eligible PwBD
candidates.
3. Issuance of the Admit Card/Appearing in the Written Test does not confer any right of
appointment/selection. Appointment/Selection is subject to final verification at various
stages by the respective Institution(s) to which you have applied.
4. Your candidature/particulars/category etc. for the above Programmes is purely provisional
subject to your satisfying prescribed eligibility conditions for the said examination and post.
If on verification at any time before or after the Interview/selection/post selection, it is found
that you do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, your candidature for the examination
and the post will be cancelled by the respective Institution(s).
5. Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the close of the exam.

Candidate can be debarred /disqualified for any of the following reasons:

1. Creating a disturbance.
2. Impersonation - Attempting to take the examination for someone else.
3. Giving or receiving assistance of any kind during the examination and communication
in any form between candidates or with outsiders or gesticulation or disturbance or
attempt to change seat/exchange rough sheets.
4. Attempting to tamper with the operation of the computer or meddling with the system.
5. Leaving the test Centre without permission from the invigilator.
6. Using prohibited aids, or item/s is not allowed, such as a calculator, Cell phone, Pieces
of paper, electronic diaries, watch alarms, listening devices, Recording or
Photographic devices, or any other unauthorized device.
7. Attempting to take away examination question/s and /or examination response/s (in
any format) from the examination Centre.
8. Failing to follow instructions of an invigilator or examination Centre staff.
9. Manhandling of invigilators or examination Centre staff.
10. Any suspicious act by the candidate which, as per the opinion of the examination
observer has created an impression of unfairness during the examination
11. Resorting to unfair means or trying to influence any person duly authorized to conduct
the examination, in any way for examination results shall be considered as a serious
offence. The candidate shall be liable to have his/her name removed from the list of
candidates for the examination and may also be further dealt with in such manner as it
may deem fit.
12. The candidate/s can be dismissed from the examination Centre for any kind of
misconduct.

General Instructions
• The question paper is of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions only.
Candidates are required to select the “correct”/” most appropriate” option
from the four options. The Questions have been set in English & Hindi
except for the section on Test of Language, which shall have questions in the
language chosen by the candidate (English or Hindi).
• Each question carries a 01 mark and a penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted in
case of a wrong answer.
• Additional time of 20 minutes per hour of exam will be allowed to eligible
PwBD candidates.
• Facilities to provide the Scribe for PwD candidates cannot be provided in
the Creative Ability Test (CAT).
• Issuance of the Admit Card/Appearing in the Written Test does not confer
any right of appointment/selection. Appointment/Selection is subject to final
verification at various stages by the respective Institution(s) to which you
have applied.
• Your candidature/particulars/category etc. for the above Programmes is
purely provisional subject to your satisfying prescribed eligibility conditions
for the said examination and post. If on verification at any time before or
after the Interview/selection/post selection, it is found that you do not fulfill
any of the eligibility conditions, your candidature for the examination and
the post will be cancelled by the respective Institution(s).
• Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the close of the exam.

Subject Specific Instructions for CAT

1. Attempt all questions.
2. Clearly mention the topic of your selected option on your Answer Sheet.
3. Do not use watercolour or poster colour.
4. Use only dry colours like crayons, pastels, and pencils.
5. Do not disclose your identity by writing any personal details including
details/logo of any coaching centre, etc., or place. This will lead to
‘disqualification’.

1. प्रचि पत्र वस्क्तनु िष्ठ प्रकार के बहुववकल्पीय प्रचिों का होगा। अभ्यर्थियों को िार ववकल्पों
में से "सही"/"सबसे उपयत
ु त" उत्तर का ियि करिा होगा। प्रचि अंग्रेजी और दहंदी दोिों
भाषाओं में सेट ककए गए हैं, र्सवाय भाषा परीक्षा अिुभाग के, श्िसमें प्रचि उम्मीदवार
द्वारा िुिी गई भाषा (अंग्रेजी या दहंदी) में होंगे।
2. पात्र PwBD अभ्यर्थियों को परीक्षा के प्रत्येक घंटे के र्लए 20 र्मिट का अनतररतत समय
ददया िाएगा।
3. प्रवेश पत्र िारी ककया िािा/र्लणित परीक्षा में उपश्स्क्थत होिा नियुश्तत/ियि का कोई
अर्धकार प्रदाि िहीं करता है । नियुश्तत/ियि संबंर्धत संस्क्थाि द्वारा ववर्भन्ि िरिों में
अंनतम सत्यापि के अधीि होगा, िहाँ आपिे आवेदि ककया है।
4. उपरोतत कायिरमों के र्लए आपकी अभ्यर्थिता/वववरि/श्रेिी आदद पूरी तरह से अस्क्थायी है
और यह निधािररत पात्रता शतों को परू ा करिे पर निभिर करता है । यदद
साक्षात्कार/ियि/ियि के बाद या ककसी भी समय सत्यापि के दौराि यह पाया िाता है
कक आप पात्रता शतों को पूरा िहीं करते हैं, तो संबंर्धत संस्क्थाि द्वारा आपकी उम्मीदवारी
रद्द कर दी िाएगी।
5. अभ्यर्थियों को परीक्षा समाप्त होिे से पहले परीक्षा हॉल छोड़िे की अिुमनत िहीं होगी।

निषेि और परीक्षा हॉल में प्रनतबांधित गनतविधियााँ

अभ्यथी को निम्िर्लणित कारिों से परीक्षा से वंर्ित/अयोग्य ठहराया िा सकता है:

1. परीक्षा में गड़बड़ी उत्पन्ि करिा।

2. प्रनतरूपि - ककसी अन्य व्यश्तत के र्लए परीक्षा दे िे का प्रयास करिा।
3. परीक्षा के दौराि ककसी भी प्रकार की सहायता लेिा या दे िा, उम्मीदवारों के बीि या बाहरी
व्यश्ततयों से ककसी भी रूप में संिार करिा, इशारों द्वारा बातिीत करिा, व्यवधाि उत्पन्ि
करिा, सीट बदलिे का प्रयास करिा, या रफ शीट्स का आदाि-प्रदाि करिा।
4. कंप्यूटर प्रिाली के संिालि में छे ड़छाड़ करिे या र्सस्क्टम के साथ छे ड़छाड़ करिे का प्रयास
करिा।
5. पयिवेक्षक की अिुमनत के बबिा परीक्षा केंद्र छोड़िा।
6. निवषद्ध साधिों या वस्क्तुओं का उपयोग करिा, िैसे कक कैलकुलेटर, मोबाइल फोि, कागि के
टुकड़े, इलेतरॉनिक डायरी, घड़ी के अलामि, सुििे के उपकरि, ररकॉडडिंग या फोटोग्राकफक उपकरि,
या कोई अन्य अिर्धकृत उपकरि।
7. परीक्षा केंद्र से परीक्षा प्रचि/उत्तर (ककसी भी प्रारूप में) ले िािे का प्रयास करिा।
8. पयिवेक्षक या परीक्षा केंद्र के कमििाररयों के निदे शों का पालि करिे में ववफल रहिा।
9. पयिवेक्षक या परीक्षा केंद्र के कमििाररयों के साथ दव्ु यिवहार करिा।
10. अभ्यथी द्वारा कोई भी संददग्ध कायि करिा, श्िससे परीक्षा पयिवेक्षक की राय में परीक्षा के
दौराि अिर्ु ित साधिों का उपयोग करिे की संभाविा उत्पन्ि हो।
11. अिर्ु ित साधिों का सहारा लेिा या ककसी भी अर्धकृत परीक्षा संिालक को परीक्षा पररिामों
के र्लए प्रभाववत करिे का प्रयास करिा, एक गंभीर अपराध मािा िाएगा। ऐसे उम्मीदवार
का िाम परीक्षा की सूिी से हटाया िा सकता है और आगे उर्ित कारि वाई की िा सकती है।
12. ककसी भी प्रकार के दव्ु यिवहार के र्लए अभ्यथी को परीक्षा केंद्र से निष्कार्सत ककया िा सकता
है।

• ककसी भी नियम का उल्लंघि करिे पर अभ्यथी को परीक्षा से वंर्ित ककया िा सकता
है।

CAT परीक्षा के शलए वििेष निर्दे ि

1. सभी प्रचिों का उत्तर दें ।

2. अपिे उत्तर पत्रक पर ियनित ववषय को स्क्पष्ट रूप से र्लिें।
3. िल रं ग या पोस्क्टर रं ग का उपयोग ि करें ।
4. केवल शुष्क रं ग िैसे रेयॉि, पेस्क्टल और पेंर्सल का उपयोग करें ।
5. अपिी पहिाि का िुलासा ि करें , िैसे व्यश्ततगत िािकारी, कोर्िंग सेंटर का वववरि
या स्क्थाि आदद ि र्लिें। ऐसा करिे पर ‘अयोग्य’ मािा िाएगा।
