Reflection Paper No. 6
Discuss the (3) challenges of ensuring accountability and transparency in AI-driven decision-making.

Artificial Intelligence has brought a lot of positive changes to our lives. It can quickly answer
questions, simplify tasks, and even help solve complex problems. However, despite these advantages,
AI has some significant limitations, especially when it comes to making decisions that are transparent
and accountable. Here are three key challenges I see:
1. Lack of Empathy: AI cannot feel or empathize like humans do. When making decisions, it
does not account for the emotions or sensitivities that often guide us in life. This can make AI
seem impersonal, especially in situations where empathy is essential.
2. Too Generalized Responses: While AI can provide a lot of information, its responses can
sometimes be overly broad or miss the specific context needed for a complex issue. More
nuanced problems, it lacks the personalized insight that a human might bring.
3. Limited Critical Judgment: AI can process vast amounts of data, but it does not “think” like
we do. It can miss important ethical, social, or moral factors that require careful thought.
Without human insight, AI risks overlooking the real-world impact of its decisions.
