Basic Information
(1) Format: It will be given as an in-person exam.
(2) Day: Tuesday, May 6, 2025
(3) Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
WARNING: You are supposed to arrive at the specified area
assigned to your TA in the Elliott Hall of Music 15 minutes prior
to the starting time of the exam. That is to say, you should
come to the exam site by 10:15 AM so that we can start the exam at
10:30 AM sharp. Between 10:15 AM and 10:30 AM, you will fill out
the necessary personal information into the scantron sheet and the
exam booklet. If you come at 10:30 AM, you may not have the full
120 minutes to work on the questions. We will NOT allow you
to fill out the personal information after the exam is over
at 12:30 PM.
(4) Duration: 120 minutes
(5) Place: Elliott Hall of Music.
(6) Individual Seating: You will receive an e-mail prior to the Final
Exam instruction where you should have your individual seating. If
you have any further question regarding the individual seating, please
contact your Recitation Instructor (NOT your lecturer).
(7) Calculator Policy: No calculator/electronic device is allowed
for the Final Exam (unless you have a special accommodation
which allows your use of a calculator/electronic device).
(8) Academic Dishonesty: If we find you are involved in an action of
academic dishonesty (this includes helping the other students during
the exam and/or using a calculator/electronic device and/or using
the crib sheet etc.), you will receive an automatic 0 for this exam.
(9) Special Accommodation: If you require special accomodations,
the exam will be administered through DRC. If you have further
questions, please contact Stephanie <[email protected]>.
(10) Alternate (Make-Up) Exam: If you need to make an arrangement
for an alternate exam (e.g. if you happen to fall ill on the day of
the exam), please contact BOTH your lecturer and your recitation
instrictor (TA) ASAP. You have to receive an e-mail message from
your lecturer in order to take the make-up exam (Version Alternate).
Neither your TA nor Casey has an authority to approve your make-up
exam. You have to have an approval from your lecturer. Once
you receive a message of approval from your lecturer, then contact
Casey ”McDonald, Casey Ann” [email protected] to make
an arrangement for the make-up. (She has some specific days/times
available for you to take the make-up exam.)
NO alternate exam will be administered BEFORE May 6,
the time of the regular Final Exam.

(11) Exam Booklet and Scatron Sheete: You submit BOTH exam
booklet and scantron sheet at the end of the exam. If there is dis-
crepancy between what you marked in the exam booklet and what
you marked on the scantron sheet, your final score will be determined
based upon what you marked on the scantron sheet.
(12) How to fill out personal information: Please follow the instruc-
tions on the cover page of the exam booklet on how to fill out the
personal information. It is YOUR responsibility to fill out the per-
sonal information correctly and NOT OURS to give you the full
credit even when you fill out wrong information. Please be careful.

• There will be total of 25 questions, 5 of which will be about the
subject matters discussed after Exam 3. More specifucally, these
questions are about:
(1) Cardioids
(2) Figure by Polar Equation
(3) Computation of area in terms of polar coordinates
(4) Computation of arc length in terms of polar coordinates
(5) Complex numbers.
The remaing 20 questions will be about the subject matters dis-
cussed up to Exam 3. (For the detail of the contents of the Final
Exam, please look at the Study Guide for the Final Exam. ) Each
question is worth 8 points. The maximum possible score is:
8 points × 25 questions = 200 points.
• In the Final Exam, ALL questions will be taken from the Example
Problems in the Study Guide (with possibly different numbers and
functions, and/or slightly different wordings etc.). We are revealing
ALL the questions that could be on Final Exam in the form of the
Example Problems in the Study Guide. No Surprise !
• Answer Keys to the Example Problems in the Study Guide will be
posted some time soon.
