Succession Garden Plot

Objective:

Observe how ecological community changes over time.

Materials:

a vacant lot
spade/shovel/stick
meter stick

Procedure:
1. Look for a vacant lot with grasses growing. Measure 1m x 2m rectangular area.
2. List the species that you can find in the assigned area.
3. Remove the grasses by uprooting them.
4. Observe the assigned area for five days.
