MY BOOK REVIE

SUMMARY

Write a short summary of the book in your own words. What ls the main plot or idea?

Mr. Keene, the principal of the school, is so proud of his students and teachers that he
decides they should have school every day—weekends, holidays, and even in the summer!
At first, everyone goes along with it, but soon the students, teachers, and even Mr. Keene
start to feel tired. Finally, a student named Tillie speaks up, and Mr. Keene realizes that kids
also learn important things outside of school. He changes his mind and brings back
weekends and holidays.

• Mr. Keene– The well-meaning but overly enthusiastic principal who thinks
more school is always better.
• Tillie– A thoughtful and brave student who helps Mr. Keene understand
that learning happens everywhere.

What was your favorite part of the book? Why?


My favorite part of the book was when Tillie told Mr. Keene that even though school is important,
kids also learn at home, with family and in nature. It was a sweet moment that showed how wise kids
can be.

What are the main themes or messages of the book? What do you think the author
wanted you to learn or think about? Why?

The main message of the book is that learning doesn’t only happen in school. It
reminds us that children also need time to explore, rest, play, and grow in
different environments. The author wants us to think about balance in
education.

I give this book 5 stars because it’s funny, meaningful, and has a great message for kids
