B.Sc. in Logistic Sciences
The department of logistic sciences at the school of Management and Logistic Sciences is
the first department specialized in logistics and supply chain management to be opened in
Jordan. So far, no other specialized academic departments are available in the country.
Programs offered by the department of Logistic sciences provide students with the knowledge
and skills needed for access or progression in fields of logistics and supply chain management.
The programs offered by the department cover the major components of logistics system
including: purchasing strategies, transportation management, warehouse design and operations,
inventory planning and control, supplier-customer relationships, import and export operations,
and retail logistics management. The programs include the topics of supply chain management
and integration, logistics system optimization, humanitarian logistics, green logistics and
sustainability, and the contemporary issues in logistics.
Objectives:
The objectives of B.Sc. in Logistic Sciences program are established in line of the university’s
strategic goals since the program aims:
PO1. To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the major elements of theory
and application of logistics and supply chain management.
PO2. To expose students to a wide spectrum of opportunities for future employment in a wide
range of sectors and prepare them for the international job market.
PO3. To empower students and provide them with the national and international in-hand
practical knowledge in logistics and supply chain management.
PO4. To create a learning environment for students to develop their knowledge and
understanding of logistics and supply chain management practices.
PO5. To equip students with a broad perspective in inbound and outbound logistics and global
business environment.
PO6. To allow students to develop a detailed understanding of end-to-end supply chain and the
flow of information and materials within and between organizations.
PO7. To develop the students' conceptual understanding and technical competence they need
for decision making and problem solving.
PO8. To develop and enhance the students' personal, intercultural and intellectual abilities for
a lifelong learning and contribution to the society.
PO9. To prepare students for postgraduate degrees and professional certificates in specialized
logistics and supply chain management fields.

Knowledge:
LO1. Understand the best practices and stakeholders’ roles in supply chain management,
logistics and procurement.
LO2. Comprehend the major strategies in designing and operating logistics network.
LO3. Understand the impacts of globalization on supply chain management and trade.
LO4. Relate to operations management and information systems in managing warehouse,
inventory and transportation.
LO5. Recognize the importance of logistics sustainability and the different supply chain
